Soooo. Went to dinner with my wife and the inlaws. My wife's stepfather is Ecuadorian, and he wanted to try this place out. They were coming from Allentown. The food was good. No complaints there. However, I'm not sure I'll be returning anytime soon. Not enough bang for the buck. $59.27 for two people (for my wife and I, don't remember what inlaws bill was).Yeah, I've spent that before at a place with a more put together atmosphere, but tell my why we had a service charge of 15%, that is not considered a gratuity. The server explained she did not know what it was, and that tips were optional. It just seemed weird. I'm not just passing through. I live around the corner and would've have returned, but if I'm getting charged a 15% service fee for splitting a bill in half with in laws (service fee for each bill) and expected to tip afterwards, I'd feel a tad bit cheated. Not may restaurants do this, even nicer ones, especially not in this area. I feel a bit taken...
Read moreThe food was alright, nothing too amazing, as someone native to the area where this food is typical from. The chicken drumstick in my stew came with the bone harshly broken up; the waitress refused to change it. The churrasco asado was ok, but overcooked. Overall way too expensive for what you are getting.
A main issue was that, as evidenced by the pictures of the menu and the receipt, I was charged $4 for each Ecuadorian soda, while the menu had a price of $2/$2.5. This is ridiculous and the main reason for my 1 star review. If they had communicated correctly the price of the drinks from the start, I would not have purchased 3 sodas. The server refused to honor the prices written in the menu after my pushback. In fact she had the gall to say that she didn't charge us for the tap water I requested.
They also have an automatic 15% service charge, but still ask for tip on top of that. In my opinion this is also a...
Read moreWent to this restaurant yesterday Apr 29th just to try it with family since we noticed it was new. We tried a bunch of different things to get a sense of their dishes. Of the appetizers we tried: Empanadas, Bolons, tostones and calamari frita All were good except the Empanadas. The crust was mushy and the cheese didn't seem cooked all the way. I'm used to a crispy outside and warm gooey inside. The three dishes we tried were steak, chicken and the mixed meat platter. They were all good as well! The chicken platter was the most flavorful and super juicy! Portion sizes are great we left with so much food to take home.
We are excited to have another Hispanic/Latino restaurant in the area that has great food options.
Definitely a must try restaurant and hoping this one...
