Yo, back in ‘80, Sly Stallone hit up A. Thomas Schomberg, ya know, that artist dude out in Colorado, to whip up this bangin’ ROCKY statue for “ROCKY III.” Stallone had this vision, right? He wanted ROCKY, our Philly champ, arms up high, like he just knocked out the world, standin’ tall as the victor. Now, this ain’t no regular statue. It chilled at the Philly Museum of Art for a hot sec during the “ROCKY” shoots, but then it took up residence over at the Spectrum Sports Complex. That’s where all the movie magic boxing throwdowns went down. Fast forward to 2006, and with a little help from our boy Jimmy Binns and a whole lotta Philly love, ROCKY made his big comeback to the Philly Museum of Art. Now, he’s postin’ up on this sweet patch of grass right by them famous museum steps, you know the ones. And folks from all over come to get a piece of that glory. Like Jimmy says, “This statue? It’s all about keepin’ on keepin’ on.
