Do not miss this neighborhood favorite deep in Fairmount. I have walked by it many times without even knowing it was there. To the passerby, this place looks like a easily skipped dive bar but those two do stop in will be rewarded.
Although it was getting chilly, we decided to sit outside and I am glad we did. There isn't much sidewalk space but the foot traffic in this part of the nieghborhoof is light so it works well. This is a great place to spend time at all hours of the evening or night.
We started with their Carangi Rustic bread that comes with this awesome salted honey butter. It's only $5 and is a very amplified version of table bread. I also started with a Caesar Salad (off the kids menu) that would be enough for a meal if you add chicken. The dressing was great and the croutons were perfectly toasted.
For dinner, I decided to go with the Siracha Wing that came with some sort of Cucumber/Dill Ranch. I had read reviews saying they were fried perfectly - crispy of the outside with meat that falls of the bones, I certainly found this to be true. I would recommend these if you are just eating here once. They are a must-try. My friend got the infamous $15 Sausage Sandwich that came with thick cut fries. I only tried a little, but from what I tasted it was unbelievable. For only $15 this is a ton of food.
I am happy Bad Brother survived Covid and I am thrilled to live so close to this place. Their menu appeared to have changed from just a few weeks ago and I am excited to see what they have in store. Our meal cost $57 before tip - which is not cheap but certainly reasonable considering but was dinner in the city. We also go two drinks.
Definitely do yourself a favor and make the trip (struggle to find parking) and try this place. They also do take out, which I hope to try soon. Well done,...
Read more4.6 stars was our total experience.
5 stars- Attentive service which came with an automatic 20% gratuity, which I didn’t mind because that’s what I would have given our servers anyway, so fortunately service was good.
Atmosphere is 4.6, it was a really cool place, small so they maximized their space. I believe it was probably a house turned into a restaurant…that’s what it seemed like.
Menu/Food was a 4.5 for me. We were excited & came there thinking we were going to be wowed by their burger menu …but my kids were confused because there was no burger on the menu. There was however a cheese burger served in a hoagie style. It was a bit odd, average in taste. The fries were a bit on the burn side; however, I read other reviews and that seems to be the chef’s preference …crispy. The sausage sandwich was delicious and the siracha wings were also great! We also loved the bread that came with honey butter spread. I ordered wine by the glass and the portion was quite small, below the normal serving but it was a great montepulciano which I recommend. Overall, we intentionally chose Bad Brother because we thought they were known for their burgers…and there...

This bar is great for reasons that are two-fold. First fold, this bar will make you look good. If you are tasked with finding somewhere to drink. If your friend group has bestowed upon you the responsibility to choose the spot; by choosing this bar you will have your friends singing your praises and admiring your decision making.
Second fold, this restaurant will make you look like you are in the know around town. The food here is a beautiful thing. It is bold, unapologetic (i.e serving lamb tartar next to the sriracha wings), and oh-so-very-flavorful. Your friends, your date, and or your family will look at you wondering how you found this place. Leaving impressed and a little envious of your food knowledge around the city.
And finally, the staff that works this humble tavern is top notch. Whether it be the bartender Kyle greeting you as you enter the bar, or Nick visiting your table with a happy hello; your time at Bad Brother will have felt like time with family and friends.
I can’t speak highly enough about this establishment, and as the cherry on top they have a Mike...
