Went there the first time and it was a nightmare, I had to go again to get it fixed and it was even worse the second time. The pedicure was so bad and the nail polish was absolutely off. It looked like a little child has done it. The man redid them and it looked even worse than before. When I asked for the manager, some woman came up to me and when I asked her if she thought it looked well the started yelling at me in front of all customers. Told me to fix my attitude and that I should never ever come back here again, she would remember my face and to get out of here. I’m not sensitive but I was so speechless and shocked that tears came up when I left. These people are the worst and so rude that I would never ever come back or recommend this place. They don’t care about their customers and just wanna get it done fast to get money. I can’t believe how people can be so mean and rude. Worst place ever!

Update: The owner reached out to me and apologized for the quality of the dip nails and offered to redo them for free. I came in this past weekend and was very satisfied with the results. I have been coming here for a few years for pedicures and have had an overall positive experience. During my latest visit, I was offered to get dip powder and I accepted. What I was not expecting was for the service to be so rushed and sloppy. My cuticles and nails were not prepped at all (besides an acetone wash, which I was charged $5 for without being told). It wasn't until I got home that I realized how uneven and lumpy my nails were. There is gel top coat flooding my cuticles and I still have to file them to remove this at home. The place was pretty much empty when we went so I am not sure why the service was being rushed while I was getting my pedicure at the same time.

I was hopeful for this place after seeing all the high reviews, but personally had an awful experience. It started strong. He offered me lots of color options for my dip mani. But once we started, he went in dry and ripped my thumb nail off so bad he had to put on a fake tip (gets one star for not charging me, since it wasn’t my fault). It was the driest manicure ever. I know that sounds weird. I was burned with the drill I think cuz it felt hot and uncomfortable after a bit. Walked out with hands covered in nail dust and cuticle oil, which was the grossest grainiest feeling. Not sure if I got a new tech or one that was in a hurry or something. He was nice and I like the nails, but the experience itself was not good. :(

I was passing by the nail salon on Sunday evening around 5 pm and their doors were open, the ‘OPEN’ sign was still on. So before entering, I asked if they were still open for manicures and one of the ladies (her name was KELLY) agreed I could come in and she would give me a manicure. I even asked, “Are you sure?” And she insisted and so I sat down at her booth and we got started.

It was time to pick the color and I wanted to get a gel manicure and asked her how much and she said $45 but because I had dip powder on my nails already, she had to remove it and she said it would be $5 more. Then she continued to persuade me to get the dip powder for $50 and there would be no extra charge for the removal and that it was included. So I thought, why not I’ll be getting more for my buck. Well once I said okay, she then started telling me what I should get, she wanted to me to get an ombré and she said she would show me an example. I picked out a darker purple that could almost look like a slate gray in different lighting. I WANTED a solid color on my nails but KELLY had different plans. She started doing the ombré on my pinky nail first and added a glitter powder to it and I wasn’t liking it at all but she insisted I do it. I wasn’t too excited about it but I thought you know what, I’ll be nice and let her do her thing but I asked before proceeding, “Is this still going to be $50?” And then she said no, “$55” and continued doing the rest of my nails so I felt pressured into doing these ombré nails. She starts filing and asking what kind of shape I want and I said round not almond. KELLY gave me SLOPPY almond shaped nails. They weren’t symmetrical or even at all. LONG STORY short, don’t come here. Go somewhere where they will RESPECT YOUR WANTS FOR YOUR NAILS. She didn’t even give me a cuticle cut and the skin around my nails looked worse than when I came in because she buffed so rough. I went to go wash my hands and I was so disappointed about the shape and how my cuticles were NOT cut and that was the whole point in getting my manicure so that I have pretty, clean nails!!! There were two other nail techs there and they saw the disappointment in my face and tried to help. One of the nail techs was kind enough to tell me she would cut my cuticles and I pointed out how my nails were not symmetrical either and she wanted to charge me an extra $5 to fix their mistake, so $60 total. And she kept telling Kelly to be quiet because she kept saying things to me in her language that I did not understand and I did not say anything to her, I didn’t confront her, but she came for me. PLEASE DO NOT COME HERE. KELLY IS VERY DISRESPECTFUL, BOSSY, and a LIAR-she started yelling at me in her language once I corrected her about the price she originally told me.SMH.

I should have read the reviews before going in and I should have started recording Kelly’s unprofessional rude behavior.

In response to the comment below from management: Just to clarify, the salon did not have any other customers, just myself and the 3 nail techs and a man who was using a toilet plunger in the pedicure spas which was very unsafe and unsanitary. You could probably re-run the footage in your security cameras to see what I’m...

I’m not usually one to write reviews, but this experience was too frustrating to ignore. I normally go to a different salon for my nails, but since I recently moved and my go-to place is now too far, I decided to give this one a try and came in for a pedicure on the Fourth of July. From the start, the service felt rushed. I specifically asked for nail tips only on my big toes, but the man doing my nails dismissed my request and went ahead and added tips to all of my toes, then upcharged me for it. I let it slide because I liked how the result looked, even though it wasn’t what I asked for. However, just five hours later while at work, I felt one of the toenails pop off inside my shoe. I assumed it was a one-time fluke, especially since the salon was closed by then. Later that night, another tip, my pinky toe, popped off too. At that point, I decided I’d call on Saturday to let them know and go in Sunday to get it resolved. When I arrived, I respectfully explained the situation and asked for a refund since the quality was clearly poor for it to fall apart in under 24 hours. Instead of understanding, the woman at the front started yelling over me and insisted it was normal for tips to fall off that quickly, which is simply not true. I’ve had the same service at my previous salon and it would last over three weeks without issue. To make things worse, she tried to upsell me another $40 service instead of resolving the problem. The entire interaction was unprofessional, dismissive, and felt like a cash grab. I will not be returning, and I strongly suggest you don’t either unless you’re okay with overpaying for nails that fall...

Excellent!! I’ve been going to salon further up 16th st near highland for 3 years and the prices have gone up while the quality has gone down. I went to them 3 weeks ago to have my nails done for a very special day, my friends wedding day and did not get what I asked for and walked out paying over $80! I finally had enough. I searched yelp and came across 16th st Nails & Spa where I saw one of my old favorite nail techs Kevin from another salon I use to go to was now at 16th st Nails & Spa and everyone was of course raving about him. Kevin is the best so professional, kind and does an AMAZING JOB!

While I was there I opted to get my eyebrows waxed by Brandy and she was very professional listening to my concerns about a patch of hair missing on my eyebrow. She suggested Henna tattooing helps stimulate hair growth. I had her for the wax and henna tattooing and her prices were so reasonable. She also mentioned she does eyelash extensions and that she was running a special normally $150 but she was offering them for $90 as she just moved from San Antonio and was trying to grow her clientele here in Phoenix. Her eyelashes were beautiful and I I asked if those were the same type she uses on clients and she said yes. Her service was amazing and my eyebrows haven’t looked this good in so long! As we’re speaking I’m debating wether or not to go back right this moment and take advantage of her $90 promotion.

16th st Nails & Spa is now my absolute...
