I moved from Dallas and havenāt been successful at finding a good nail tech yet. I came here yesterday to give it a try and had the WORST customer service experience in a nail salon in my entire life. When I first walked in there was a young man at the front and he was pretty friendly. Once I sat down I had a older lady start on my pedicure. She asked me if I wanted the regular pedicure I told her that I didnāt know what other option I had so then she gave me the menu. I went with the $40 dollar one because it included the callus removal. The whole time I was getting a pedicure the lady was making sounds and complaining about having pain on her right hand. So during my pedicure she barely touched me or massages my legs. While she was doing the calluses removal she spent maybe 5 seconds on each foot and then stopped as if she had taken anything off. I had to ask her to re-do it because I went with the higher pedicure just for that. After that I notice that everyone was asked if they wanted a water and I was never asked. Also, no hi no bye no conversation at all which Iāve always had nail techs at least say hi to me. After the pedicure I told her I needed to get gel on my nails and also do eyebrows. She did my nails (still complaining the whole time about her hand) and after that she just got up and left. No bye, thank you, nothing. So then I reminded her that I needed to do my eyebrows. She took me to the back room and left me there for 10 minutes just waiting for someone to come. About 10 people walked back and forth from where I was and nobody came. After 5 more minutes this lady walks in talking on the phone shuts the door and starts doing my eyebrows. While Iām getting my eyebrows done she is screaming on the phone and ends up pinching my eyebrow because she is to damn busy screaming on the phone. After she was done I get up look in the mirror and had some hairs that still needed to be taken out well before I was able to tell her she had already left the room. I walk out and sheās already with someone else. So at this point Iām ready to leave. Well I go to the front got charge $75 dollars and the guy literally took about 5 minutes to check me out because he was arguing with the lady that had just did my eyebrows. Once again WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! Donāt waste your money. There is a lot more nail salons that need and want the business more than...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe first time I came in I did so because my nail shop moved. I didnāt expect resort style service but the only person who was nice was the person at the front. When I sat down my person didnāt say hi, he just handed me a sheet to pick a plan (all of which were a little high but it wasnāt a big deal). He proceeded to ignore me till I left. I didnāt like it but I decided it was just someone with a bad day. I decided to go again today because of location & had the same interaction with no eye contact or hello and his demeanor looked annoyed. When he started the water, my feet were already in the tub and it was so cold I jumped. He looked at me like I offended him! He only talked to me to ask a plan and if I wanted my nails filed. I felt terrible that I struggled with his accent but he asked if I wanted my nails filed. I get the language barrier, but body language IS a language. Also, it seems to me that filing or cutting nails in a pedicure is sort of part of the process and his judgement call. I didnāt understand but I stayed. A few minutes in after his apathetic attempt to use the lotion/file thing (.005 seconds, dude) he answered his cell phone (bare handed) and went back to doing my pedicure and stayed on it for more than a āhi,byeā situation. He then coughed kind of hard on my feet. It was the end of the line. He hadnāt done much so I left in the middle of the pedicure, wet feet and all, lol. They were surprised and I asked if I owed them anything and they just looked at me stunned. No answer meant ānoā I guess. I drove a bit to go to my old salon that was a little further but they were awesome, as usual. NEVER going back. I only gave 1 star because there isnāt a 0. P.S. the chairs were...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've been having my nails done with SNS dipping powder for 5+ years. Before it was cool and popular and I had to call around and ask salons to provide the service, since it was more healthy and natural post cancer. I went to other specialty SNS nail salons before finding AK Nails. AK nails had been my favorite for a few reasons.
They do an amazing job and have a nice, new and clean environment without charging you a ton extra for it! They have well trained technicians that are available and they don't just treat you like a number. I have had Tee, Marie and Ben do my nails. They all do a consistently good job. Some places I would go (I am very detailed and particular) I would go back to the same person and sometimes they would take their time and do a good job and others they would rush and my nails would look different and not as good but I would be charged the same. Tee is simply AMAZING at designs and details!!!! I never did designs until tee did my nails. I just did neutral colors but he is talented and artistic and can make you want to step out of your bubble. Marie was fabulous as making sure you get perfectly shaped simple elegant nails and she is very detailed about your nails being the right shape and she is very gentle. Ben only did my nails once but was great, not quite as detailed as Marie if I remember correctly but I notice every little edge and bump. -ADVICE: Make and appointment, plan enough time (1 hour for no design more for design) and if you are really detailed ask for someone who had been doing nails for a long time and they won't give you the newbie. I also hear...
