I don't normally do reviews for food places unless I had a good food/service but when I recently ate lunch at this place I had a horrible experience. I went there with my family thinking I would try this place because of all the good ratings but this place is far from 4 stars. The waitress was nice at the beginning asking what we wanted to eat and even suggesting a few menu items. Well, we placed our orders and the waitress soon brought out the fried rice which my family thought was bland, but I didn't mind it, then came our orders of sweet and sour chicken, kung pao chicken, and sesame chicken. My girlfriend got the kung pao chicken it was non-edible it had a terrible taste and wasn't even close to tasting like kung pao chicken period so we had to send it back along with my sister's sweet and sour chicken because she was dissatisfied with it as well. Everything seemed fine until the waitress came back after arguing with someone in the back and said we had to pay and extra $2 dollars because my sister and girlfriend didn't order anything else, honestly because they lost their appetite, so they assumed they were eating some of our meals they had to charge us and they had the nerve to imply that most restaurants apply this charge also. To sum things up I will not be eating at this establishment any more and wanted others to use caution as well since this rating is not at all accurate I would give it a 2 - 2 1/2...
Read moreWe ordered to go from here tonight strictly because it had a decent rating and amount of reviews. We read a lot of reviews that were hit and miss and decided to try for ourselves. We should’ve listened to the reviews. The food was so bland literally no flavor. (No we don’t have Covid) We ordered sweet and sour chicken with fried rice, tangerine chicken with fried rice, wontons and egg rolls. I thought it was strange the chicken was basically a chicken breast breaded, fried and then sliced in strips. It wasn’t your typical all around breaded bite size chicken you normally get. The sweet and sour was so liquidy and watered down. It had potential flavor. The tangerine chicken had the most flavor which I will say was okay but the breading situation threw off the whole meal and it was soggy. No crispy. The egg roll wrap and wonton batter was yummy not sure if those are made in house but they were good and didn’t taste like old grease thankfully! The fried rice tasted stale and nothing else. Hardly any veggies/egg in it. Not even dousing in soy sauce helped the rice. The wontons had 1/8 of a teaspoon of cream cheese in them. Lol not exaggerating there was barely anything inside it was just the fried batter. Definitely not worth the price. You are basically paying for tortilla chips. Unfortunately we will not be going back but try at your own risk. Everyone has different...
Read moreAlways greeted with a SMILE (and a HUG)! Desert Jade is truly a Chinese jewel in our AZ desert. Simple Chinese food done well!!
Great family owned restaurant that really cares about their customers. They remember their regulars by name and ask about your family members and/or friends (especially my mom awwwww). They are genuinely heart warming & sweet.
I have been coming here for almost 20 years. Wow that's a while! So I must really love this place & the family that runs it. Plus they are funny & they joke around with me for years about my lack of driving & taking cabs there unless with family or friends (must have my cravings satisfied haha).
Some of the servers have been there a while so they know I like my food spicy & no carrots even if I might forget to say. I don't like to waste food. So they will make most of their dishes to your preference since it's made fresh. Just ask.
Great Food! Great Service! Always fresh ingredients and no msg. Always consistently delicious! And again simple Chinese...
