Last year was great, this year sucked. $15 to get in is actually insane for the prices you pay inside. I purchased food there and it was $33 for the mid food and a drink and thatβs it. Then I paid for deep fried Oreos and they were $10 which is alright. Then the worst of all, $20.40 for 16 tickets. 5 tickets was $10.20, so you got no discount whatsoever for buying more tickets. We were only able to play 2 games because the first one was 6 tickets and then the next game was 5 per person and we had two people play. The second game was a water gun game so I get it, thatβs one person who wins, but the first game was a beer pong game and we wanted the large plush and you had to get three balls in to win it, we got one in and we were gonna continue playing but then the attendant told us that if we did our points would erase, I thought that was absolutely insane for how much we are paying for tickets. Usually they let you keep playing if you want a bigger prize/upgrade your prize. I do not think we will be returning to the fair unless itβs for a concert, insanely expensive and it just...

Honestly, this fair feels like a cash grab in every direction. You pay to get in, then you pay way too much for rides, food, games, and anything else you even look at too long. I get fairs arenβt supposed to be cheap, but come on, five bucks per ride just to get spun in circles and stumble off with a headache? Hard pass.
Trying to grab food is its own battle. The lines are ridiculous and by the time you finally get up to order, youβre overheated, hangry, and questioning your life decisions. And the food? Not bad, but nothing that makes the wait or the price feel worth it.
Iβm from a small town back east where county fairs just hit different. You get local vendors, legit farm food, more heart, less hassle, and you can actually enjoy the day without draining your entire wallet.
The Arizona State Fair has the size, lights, and energy of a big event, sure, but it misses the charm and value that makes a fair fun. I went once, gave it a shot, and that was...
Β Β Β Read moreIf you guys are planning to come to the state fair in Arizona, donβt it is not worth it. The prices are ridiculously expensive. They donβt even make sense. This fair just wants your money to the point where itβs unbelievable like I get that the fair supposed to be a bit expensive, but donβt make it to the point where we have to spend almost $200 on some tickets that are not even worth it cause you make them 14 tickets for one single ride when the prices to buy tickets are honestly unbelievable Donβt even get me started with the prices on the food like thereβs no way youβre gonna be charging almost $13 for a corn dog save your guysβs money to go to a place thatβs more accurate to spend money...
