How to report negative encounters by library staff? We have been targeted and harassed by several employees over a period of a few months now, which leads me to believe it's not just bad employee or bad day but rather a common culture of targeted selection to turn away certain people. I may also add that we are not cacausian in case that may have anything to do with their behavior. It's also extremely noticable how Undiverse the story-time classes are. Examples of their harassment include turning away my 18 months old baby from kids activities for being below the age, over the age when the website clearly says for ages 0-5, being a walker not crawler where other parents who brings their crawlers are allowed to bring their bigger kids who walk. And the grand finale today we were asked to leave due to no food policy b/c my baby had a cracker only so he would not have a tantrum! He was not having an entire 3 course cmeal!! It is beyond outrageous. I've regularly seen other parents offer their babies bottles n small crackers from time to time,, so this is not a uniform application of their so called policy. My baby has been a regular story time goer since he was 4 months old and he is now 2 years old. We've been to many libraries in Arizona and other states we have Never ever seen this anywhere. Would not recommend them at any cost. As we part ways with this branch permanently I've submitted our comment to their web site and hope the higher officials...
Read moremy suggestion is do not go there when a guard named Pete is working I was there this past Tuesday and witnessed a fellow library patron was escorted out by police now normally I wouldn't write a post about this but I found out who was escorted out and why and I must say I am outraged by this the young man in question is trying his best to get back on his feet from a few bad luck months he has been having and not once did I ever see him doing what he was accused of then I found out there was a history between the two and at first I wasn't sure what to believe but then I remembered a few things that happened when I was there and this guard Pete did have a grudge against this young man it wouldn't surprise me if this so called guard did in fact frame this young man because more then a few times I did see this guard looking at the young man's computer more then once when he was away from it if you ask me don't get on this guards bad side or you may be the one being escorted out by P.P.D based...
Read moreI love the Ironwood Library it is part of the Phoenix Public Library and I love it. I used books from here as well as the computers to help me study for a big test last year and the atmosphere was wonderful and staff were always friendly. Now when I come to look around, check out DVDs and movies, or for the great events and programming they hold I find it's always a lovely place. It is packed with information and resources for the community and it is always decorated so nicely and always clean. They have clubs and regular events, plenty of computer, sitting space, and tables, and so much information about the local community. The new holds lockers outside are also another amazing addition that adds to the usefulness and atmosphere of this place. I love...
