I’ve gone to this library ever since I was in first grade and have always enjoyed reading books there and loved the people the environment everything. I’ve never had an encounter like this before this day. A few days ago I was minding my own business I’m a very kind soul and mean no harm. I don’t cuss or fight or anything and I’m going out of the bathroom didn’t even look directly at this lady and she was sitting down across from the bathroom and I sat down literally a foot away from her then she got up from her seat and said why is this moron following me and I asked if she was referring to me and she said yes. I have no idea who this 40 year old lady is and I’m only 22... I go to asu full time work part time I’m well educated kind hearted and was literally going to go to the library to use their computer and study. She proceeded to continue to say that I was following her when I literally just went outside to use my cell phone to talk to one of my good friends from a different state. She said your a stalker you are mentally ill why do you keep following me. So I said look I have no idea who you are or why your targeting me. Your the one who needs help not me. I’m completely sane you are not. You should go to a mental hospital or something. I said I’m going to report you to the front office in the library and she was like do it do it. So I did. Bad mistake. They did nothing to help me and saw that I was shaking and scared and was crying and it was so embarrassing everyone was watching me. One lady who goes there a lot was the only nice one who helped me. I wish I could get that guys name because he didn’t call security to get this crazy lady out. The lady pretended to tell the front desk that she was the victim not me it was just a horrible experience and I don’t think I sadly could ever go back there I’m too scared. Luckily I talked with the manager and he was nice. I might go back only because he said he would watch for her if she ever returned and that no one would ever hurt me and to talk to security directly if that ever happens. So embarrassing and that front desk guy did nothing to help just walked me to my car with the other lady who was helping me and being nice to me. Just really rude. So sorry that was so long. But yeah I was sad about it and still...
Read moreThe first time I came here it was great. In and out and did what I had to do. Thos time tho I had to get some very important paperwork printed for my lawyer and it was like pulling teeth from a gator. They only accept cash for their print station and only change, $1 & $5. All I had was a $20 from the atm. Asked a worker if they could break the $20 for the print station and she said No if you want change go over to the mall and get it from the food court. No I am not shopping at the mall.... if it ONLY takes cash and ONLY $1 & $5 then you should provide change. This is the ONLY library I have EVER been to that does not break a bill for THEIR SERVICES. I wasnt asking them to break my $20 to go someqhere else to buy something, I was asking so I could use thwir printer. She was rude enough so didnt bother asking her anything else so went to a different employee and I asked them how people pay late fees because I was just told they dont have any cash and he advised me that you have to pay fees with a credit card. Wow!! What about those who do not have a credit card? Guess you never get paid. So I walk to the food court at the mall and GUESS WHAT THEY DONT ALLOW THE WORKERA TO BREAK FOR CHANGE. Had to go to multiple stores till I found someone to break my $20. Thank you to the Fix your Phone Kiosk man for breaking my $20 so I could print my paperwork. Finally got back to the library and got my paperwork to print..... If you offer a service that requires a specific thing then you should have the means at your facility for your patrons to use that service....
Read moreOf course because of taxpayers monies this library is somewhat commendable. The air-conditioning was powerful and at the end of my roughly two hour visit I was cold. The Dark Side: Three men occupied when I arrived, what I'd call comfortable 'living room chairs,' my entire visit. Meanwhile, walk over after about an hour, two more looking 'living room,' chairs. Only these had a small desk attached. Taped too that little desk Read This: "Reserved for Teens," and ages appeared. No teens were sitting in these chairs. All the while, I am trying to study sitting in the most extremely uncomfortable, rigid, cold, hard, metallic chair...half of a cage...yet exists in memory...yet another nightmare. Needless, too say at the end my back was aching. How can anyone accomplish anything when feeling uncomfortable and in pain? Impossible. Granted all public libraries seating are undesirable. However, May I suggest if you manage to find a comfortable chair, don't be so selfish and, sit in it for hours on end, go home and sit in your own chair... leave it too their narcissistic culture...nauseating at best......
