If you want the experience of Section 8 living, this is your place! We found the Metro Phoenix all-inclusive living apartments/hotel, because it was close to my daughter's graduation. Upon arrival, at about 11:00 AM, we expected to be able to check in early. But the front desk was unable to accommodate us. They did, however, give us a door code and informed us that early check-in would cost $50. Otherwise, the door code would not be active until 4:00 in the afternoon. About an hour later, we returned and said we would pay the $50 fee. We were then told the room was still being cleaned and wouldn't be ready for another hour. So I asked if the additional two hours would still cost $50, and they said yes. As you can see from the photos, the inside of the apartment/room is aged, marginally cleaned, and something I would never stay at again. The pool was a beautiful shade of green. The choice of sunshades from the other residents proved to be quite eclectic. The surround for the dishwasher, although the dishwasher was new, was mostly absent—almost as impressive as the burned pot stains on the floor and the replaced tile, which was not even close in size or color. One of the cabinets had a sparse selection of plates. And they were kind enough to remove the smoked glass for easier access. A few of the outlets did not have the required covers. The other window in the “family” room was broken yet had an interesting spiderweb shape to it. It was nice for them to have a Murphy bed, but they didn't supply the mattress. Another thing not supplied was the actual rod in the closet to hang clothes. The stains on the carpet added to the ambiance of government housing at its finest. Both showers couldn't switch the selector from tub to shower head, and the upstairs tub never really drained. Another amenity was the built-in entertainment. We played “Wack a Roach” with our shoes! My daughter got 3, the wife got 1, and I missed 2. Fortunately, the on-site security had his golf cart and bulletproof vest, which made my comfort level soar. Parking was cramped but cozy. On the brighter side, the AC worked great, and the refrigerator and dishwasher were new. Although I have never lived in Section 8 housing, I now feel this experience has brought me closer to that lifestyle.

We found this place on Airbnb for $2600/month. If you are not from Phoenix and found this place on Airbnb, please read this before booking so you don’t end up like us - we had to get a refund from Airbnb and find another place after just one night because it is sketchy/felt unsafe/ and felt like a huge rip off for the money. 1. We felt extremely unsafe. This place is located right in the middle of homeless population. As you walk out right in front of the complex, there are plenty of sketchy people. The first night as we were unloading the car, one of the residents was clearly on something, and she stood right in front of the car, surveying our car. We had to literally tell her to leave. 2. $2600 is for a tiny studio. Ours was located right on the basketball court. All night there was someone playing basketball 5 feet from our room.Toilet clogged. We couldn’t use the bathroom for the rest of the night. Found bugs everywhere even in the kitchen. 3. Looks nothing like the photos BEWARE. The pics on Airbnb must be old. Everything is worn out. The pool area is a bunch of chairs with cobwebs. Since the studio is so small, I went to the pool area to take a call, and left with a spider bite. We know not to expect too much from Airbnb. But this is nothing as advertised. We really feel like we were baited and switched - especially for those not from Arizona, as our options become more limited. Please be careful and stay safe.

I ABSOLUTELY love. Loved. This place. The staff were sooo accommodating and made it hard to check out and say goodbye. The reason i didn't give it full five stars is because it was a little on the pricier side. But I'm not complaining for the entire stay/experience was well worth the money i spent. After all the entire stay was i think a full week. (Need to double check that and the exact amount. So i will be doing an update!!!*). It ROUGHLY came out to about i wanna say but don't quote me, about 1000$. Again, i could be wrong and will deff be doing an update once i check my folio receipt. Anyways back to what i was saying was this stay was perfect. It was very clean upon entering. And i very very much can appreciate the no contact check-in. I think it's very cool to do how far technology has come to even be able to do that. The way you contact front desk or manager or what have you is thru their website or personally i did it thru where i booked. Which was booking.com. it says on their that they usually take up to 24 hours to respond. Which was not the case for me. They got into contact with her less then 20 min. It never really took longer then an hour to get a response. Totally recommend staying here if you are inquiring about this particular location.!!!!🔥💅

This review is for the PHX Black Cyn Hwy location. It pains me to review this location so poorly but I have looked at our hours long stay from a variety of perspectives and all result in DUMP! It started with the initial meet and greet upon check-in. All 3 reps were polite and ensured that I would be assisted soon. The gentleman that called me up to the desk was kind and courteous as he quickly checked the reservation, asked for credentials, and proceeded to guide me to our building/room. I open the door and the room is filthy. No problem, mistake that will be easily resolved by switching rooms. I return to the front desk and am greeted and assisted by a different rep. I discreetly inform of the situation who in turn loudly asks the previous rep 'who told him that room was ready'. They have an inappropriate conversation in front of customers resulting in the 2 others reps and manager berating him causing me major discomfort as a customer. I then look up my reservation email which was sent an hour prior indicating the same room number along with my words of 'the system had it ready an hour ago'. The rep then responds with 'the system isn't correct and neither was he'. The manager than calls me into to her office to resolve the issue by scribbling out the previous number with the new room number and sends me on my way. I have difficulty at the door, unable to access with the code so I return to the office. A rep walks me over to assist, encounters the same issue, makes a call and is granted access. Upon entering the room, I was met with the most stale air I have ever encountered. No problem, I adjust the AC and air out the room as we bring in our belongings. The room appeared to have been freshened up between guests meaning the bed was made, the trashcans had fresh liners, counters and sinks were clean and dry, floor was not visibly dirty. However, I disinfected every surface with cleanser: door handles, countertops, faucet knobs, tub, bathroom floor, toilet, and bed. The walls were stained. The carpet is not fresh and completely smelly. Due to time constraints for our event, we left hoping the smell would dissipate by the time we returned for the evening. The pungent odor was too much to handle that we contacted Expedia to inform of the deplorable conditions and request assistance as we were not staying. Walking through a different building, one experiences the same horrific odor, it was not just our room, this is the condition of the complex. The website totally 'catfished' me with posting pictures of a room that is not representative of the complex. The smell, beyond offensive! I was willing to ignore some of the players in and around the complex: a lady walking around in underwear, a man walking around with an open beverage, the ways in which the reps spoke to one another in front of customers, the disarray in the manager's office (it looked more like a storage room than a place of business), but, coupled with the lack of sanitary conditions in the room I could not stay any longer. I would not recommend this location as a vacation spot. If one is in dire need of shelter, I suppose this location will provide enough. Do yourself a favor and stay at a Motel# chain as they are comparably priced with much higher standards...

Anybody looking to rent a room from this location should avoid at all cost! I will be completely honest and speak my truth. The property is located in a once decent area, but now has the "Zombies" apart of the backdrop like 90% of Phoenix. However, the property receives one star not for the residents that live there either permanently or for a day, it is due to the level of care put into the property by its owners. They obviously do not care about the level of living for most humans and because they do not care they attract some of the people who treat the place as such. Back to the main issue at hand, my sister has been staying here for a little under a month and has already paid into this place $2311.32 and with every unit she is relocated to it continues to get worse. Its easy for those who are able to afford higher quality living to say just go somewhere different but when you have experienced certain setbacks in life you are left with picking the pieces back up the best way you know how and go from there. With one room she complained about the plumbing in there for 3-4 days before they came to fix it. The air then stopped working and again the wait 48 hours to switch her rooms and without the decency to comp her a day for the wait. next was the alarm lights that would constantly flash on and off for days and when they came to check she was told that the alarms were supposed to do that. Where else do the emergency lights randomly flash off and on, possibly initiating a seizure. The worst one of them all was the previous room was ridiculously infested with roaches and not the indoor house kind but the sewer roaches which she recorded one of the many very large roaches INSIDE THE CLOCK ON THE STOVE!!! HOW TH DID IT GET INSIDE OF THE STOVE!! AND THIS UNIT WAS ON THE SECOND FLOOR. The lack of concern and care they have for this place but expect someone to pay close to $200 a day is definitely on the level of...
