This hellhole deserves 0 stars. The owner and staff are nothing but a bunch of greedy, shady a-holes. They actually have a sign at the front desk that says "No refunds after 15 minutes". What?! They will try to catch you violating any 1 of their ridiculous rules just to charge you extra fees. My boyfriend and I went out with some friends while we were staying there. When we returned to the hotel, our friends came inside to get the things they had left in our room while we were gone. We had not been in the room for more than 2 or 3 minutes when security came knocking and told us we had to pay $15 each for our 3 friends because they were unregistered guests after 9pm. When I tried to explain to security and later the front desk employee that our friends were just getting their things and leaving, I was told that didn't matter. They had entered our room after 9pm and I didn't register them 1st. What a joke. When I told them we didn't have enough money to pay the fees, they tried to lock us out of our room. We were able to stay in the room because of 1 decent human being with compassion who works there. They advertise a great low rate on their sign right in front of the place, but when you try to get that rate, they tell you all of those rooms are already rented. But all the rooms there are almost exactly the same. Which means they are all crappy. Our 1st room had a bathroom door that wouldn't shut, and in the 2nd room it barely closed. Oh, yea, they made us switch rooms because my boyfriend's dad rented our 1st room under his own name and did not "register" our names. So we had to switch to a different room about halfway through our stay to have our names registered to the room. The front desk employee and manager later tried to equate this scenario to the 1 with our friends getting their things, saying that because of the room switch earlier in the week, we knew our guests had to be registered. Total bs. Anyway, they told us we are banned from staying there again because we staid in the room after being told they were locking us out. I guess we were supposed to voluntarily go spend 3 days and nights outside sleeping on a park bench because their employee chose to have a soul and turn the other cheek, allowing us to stay in the room. Needless to say, I do not recommend this craphole to anyone. You can find a cheaper room in a nicer hotel across the street,...
Read moreTHIS PLACE IS GARBAGE!!!!!! My fiance and i decided to try it out even though it looked a little sketch. First off we were charged over 30$ in taxes and other hidden fees. I was a little upset but I blew it off. Then we get handed all the rules and guidelines...... ..your not allowed to have visitors after 9 pm. Couldn't check out early or late, if so your charged 15$ . any visitors past 9 its 15$ Visitors? Last time I checked I wasn't locked up. If I pay for a hotel I should be able to have whoever I want over whenever I want for as long as I want as long as it wasnt ridiculous or causing any problem's. Second, we get to our room........GARBAGE. Box spring was broke, a/c was a window unit placed on the floor with a metal box put over it. Seriously no lie....the A/C quit working out first hour in the room and the room was still hot because the unit is too small to cool a room that size. So we called the budget lodge number on Google to let them know and the lady said they would switch us rooms. So my fiance goes to the office and the fat old lady that works nights waved her finger back and forth and told my lady " no, no, no, no. You'll wait until I'm done with my cigarette". So she waited. Went inside and told my girl she talked to someone on a switchboard and they're not in charge she is and she's not switching rooms until security comes and looks at. I suppose there fake ass, fried Brains security guard was there maintence man too. So he came when the a/c was blowing cold air again. He said it was fine and that there is nothing wrong with. Lol I said OK then so I guess were lying to you. Never got our room switched. Stayed in. A hot ass room all night. Not to mention some random black dude just walks into our room and joins in with the security guard. Totally random dude that was a tenant. Next mormi my fiance and I get woke up to a Mexican lady literally screaming at us to wake up its time to check out and charged us 15$ . cause we didn't get any sleep cause it was so hot. The Mexican lady also tryed locking me out of the room while I was loading our car. Still had belongings in the room too. Worsy hotel ever!!! DO NOT GET A ROOM HERE!!!! PLEASE. You'll regret...
Read moreI was in Phoenix for a month to get some hiking done. I narrowed it down to three hotels in this area because the location is close to the hiking trails. The Budget Lodge is the worst hotel Ive ever saw in my life. No human being should ever stay at the Budget Lodge. I will give a brief review but the pics will speak for themselves. Do yourself a favor and run across the street to the Value Place hotel.
When I first walked in to the lobby I was impressed. Its completely remodeled and looks brand new. But thats where anything new about this place ends. Number one. The price outside says $33 a day and $118 a week. But they add fees for everything. There is a fee for the TV remote. You want a Microwave & fridge? It will cost you $18 a week. And it looks like something straight out of the 80's. The microwave actually plugs into the back of the fridge. There is a $15 fee to keep your bike in your room. A $5 key deposit. A $30 Linen deposit. And other fees I dont even remember. Once you add in all the fees in comes out to about the same price as the Value Place across the street.
I usually wouldnt complain about customer service at cheap no frill hotels. But they were going out of their way to be rude to everybody. It was like what you see in a movie. She had the raspy voice and everything like she'd been smoking for the past 40 years. The people staying at the hotel are shady to say the least. A lot of drug addicts and pan handlers. You wont feel safe leaving anything behind when you leave for the day. Ive stayed at a lot of run down hotels but this was the first time in my life I felt unsafe.
There is no wifi, or in room internet. If you dont know how to tether your phone to the web. You wont have any internet service. On a side note. If you have T-Mobile. You wont be able to get a signal. It cuts in and out. So you could also be without phone service.
The only good thing I can say is that after a lot of complaining I got my money back. They charged me for one night. Its a shame they let this place get so bad. A coupe pieces of drywall, new carpet, and some cheap Walmart furniture. And they would have a halfway decent hotel. But that probably wont happen. So stay away from this hotel...
