This place packs a punch for a smaller venue. Set back from the street, and nestled between houses in a residential neighborhood, this playhouse rocks the house. Given the limited space, the crew rearranges the venue area to meet the needs of the play. Sometimes stadium seating is all on one side of the room. Others, it may be split on either side, like Two Face. Theatre seats about 50-100, seats are doctor's-office-waiting-room style. I will tell you, however, the numb rear end was well worth the fabulous entertainment! Get there early for good seats and park in the St. John's Church lot around the corner. There is a shortcut through the alley that will lead you right there. Free refreshments, but bring that Bruce Wayne wallet to make a donation to the cause.
The performance was outstanding. You can tell the cast and crew put a lot of time into rehearsal. Being that close to the actors and seeing every expression puts you right into the action and gets you emotionally invested in the characters.
An usher shared with us that building itself used to be a funeral home and some say it is haunted. While a haunted playhouse sounds like a hide-out for that Joker and his goons, the only drama we witnessed was good old fashioned analog entertainment.
Would recommend for a wedding anniversary, date night, or family affair (check ahead of time to confirm it...
Read moreWent to see a performance yesterday (name of show not important since this review is about the theater and its management. Although my wife and I arrived 10 minutes early we saw there were no two seats together except two pairs of 'reserved' seats in the front row. When we requested that we should be able to sit there together, the manager told us that those were for late arrivals!! So 4 seats were saved for late arrivals to be rewarded with front row seats together while those who dutifully arrived in advance of the show were punished with being made to sit separately in seats in opposite corners at the very back. The entire staff is rude and prejudiced possibly racially biased ( we are not white). I overheard the manager and her buddy whispering I was an 'a...e' for arguing about better seats. I would not go there for a show unless you are buddies with them or you will be treated like trash. We see tons of shows in the area and have never ever been treated like this. Giving them one star just to note we did not forget to rate or would...

E we parked around the corner in a free lot and walked. Ate at Molly Maguires after. Authentic Irish food that is delicious with a good atmosphere,...
