Use to be one of my favorite places in town, however after my last visit I will never go back and I suggest you don’t either. There are 4 other cafes in town, please go support another local business like Steel City, Sweet Brew or 260 Bridge.
My last visit I spent over $60 and even tipped (like an idiot) on 2 large drinks, 2 full meals and an assorted flavor of truffles. They have no actual servers so as a customer you are responsible for running the food and drinks from the inside to your outside table and bussing your own table.
I am not a trained server but I still managed to get my 2 large drinks safely out the door and down an unmentioned step to our surprisingly flimsy and uneven outdoor table. However, as soon as I put the glasses down on the table, the weight of the 2 large glasses shifted onto the short leg and they both dropped, shattering and spilling liquid and glass on the sidewalk and me.
While one employee was very helpful in the clean up process, the manager only poked her head out, saw the situation and left us. When I asked to get our drinks remade, the employee told me in a shaky voice we had to ask her manager, as if she was afraid to ask for us. When the manager did actually briefly show her face outside, I did ask for our drinks to be remade and she ignored us, she went back in and never came back out.
Never checked to see if the glass cut us or if we here hurt, never checked to see how the food or service was, and never came out to clean up left over glass on the sidewalk, despite being located next to a dog groomer and many canines walking by unaware of the broken glass.
Not in 40 years have I never seen any restaurant not replace spilled food or drink, it doesn’t matter whose fault it was. Unemployment is at an all time high in this country and people need jobs, if you can’t hold staff it really says something about the work conditions or unreasonably low pay.
The customer shouldn’t be expected to serve themselves drinks and pay for a simple mistake. There’s a reason pencils have erasers, it’s expected for humans to error. Just remake the drinks next time. Give your customer a free salad. In the long run it’s a lot cheaper and better business practice to have a long time customer that raves about your service and leaves you a positive review for an amazing experience, rather than losing a customer, having them write a bad review, and literally tell everyone in town that will listen, GO TO A DIFFERENT CAFE IN TOWN. Shop local, just one of the...

I recently had the unfortunate experience of visiting Cafe Com Leite, and let me tell you, it was a disaster. From the moment I walked in, I knew something was wrong. The air was thick with the smell of burnt coffee and something vaguely sour, like week-old milk.
The service was equally abysmal. I waited an eternity for someone to even acknowledge me, and when they finally did, the barista was rude and dismissive. I ordered a cafe com leite, expecting a warm, comforting drink. What I received was a lukewarm cup of what can only be described as watery brown sludge. It was bitter, devoid of any coffee flavor, and the milk tasted like it had been sitting out all day.
I took one sip and almost gagged. This was not cafe com leite. This was an insult to coffee and milk everywhere. I politely complained to the barista, but they simply shrugged and said, "That's how we make it here."
Needless to say, I didn't finish my "coffee." I left Cafe Com Leite feeling cheated and utterly disgusted. If you value your tastebuds and your sanity, I urge you to avoid this place at all costs. There are countless other cafes in the area that serve delicious coffee and actually treat their customers with respect. Do yourself a favor and go to one of them instead.
Here are just a few of the things I hated about Cafe Com Leite:
Burnt coffee: The coffee tasted like it had been roasted to the point of carbonization. Sour milk: The milk tasted like it was past its prime and had a strange, unpleasant odor. Rude service: The baristas were unfriendly and dismissive. Overpriced: The coffee was overpriced and not worth even half the price. Dirty environment: The cafe was dirty and uninviting. In conclusion, Cafe Com Leite is a terrible cafe that I would not recommend to anyone. Save yourself the time and money and go...
Read moreThis cafe is freaking adorable. I heard it was always busy so I went super early on a weekday to fully experience the shop. I was immediately greeted by Mike who was fantastic and told me about pretty much everything they sold there and what was in them. I would have literally walked out with one of everything if I could but I still managed to try plenty. First I got their Maté tea which I asked for with steamed almond milk instead of water and a bit of sugar. The tea was served in a growler type cup with a special straw, I thought it tasted nice and earthy and the little bit of sweetness with the almond milk made it a new favorite of mine. I also bought 4 pão de queijo and 1 palito de queijo which were both similar except one had cheese on the outside, they are good but both have a slightly weird gummy interior. I had the same thought with the ultimate avocado tapioca, I couldn't decide if I liked it because the texture was so unexpected that it had a hard exterior and the middle of the shell was really gummy. I really liked the chicken coxinha and beef esfiha those were probably my two favorite things I tried. The chicken empanada was good bit on the dry side. The enroladinho de queijo was nice, not to sweet but the bread part was a little dry which is weird since it's soaked in condensed milk. The sonho stuffed with the dulce de leche was very good but I wish the filling was a little softer. Lastly I got a slice of bolo leite ninho abacaxi & maracuhá which was good but not exactly what the guy told me, I definitely didn't expect hard pieces of what I think was pineapple in it but my one son really liked it. I will definitely want to go back to try more but overall I liked the cafe a lot with how cute it was, great service,...
