It’s open! And so wonderfully educational! Visit 18 colonial houses (almost all Built in the 1700s) set during the revolutionary period through the 1800s. We were able to see and talk to actors dressed as a printer, an English trained flint and lock musketeer, an American colonist-born rifle sharpshooter, gardeners, and so many more! Best part was it was free and attached to an awesome park. The very park where the first July 4 fireworks were shot off in 1778, two years after the Declaration of Independence was signed and right in the midst of the Revolutionary War. We also marched the parade grounds where George Washington marched the Continental Army. What a great experience! I highly recommend this historically accurate, educational, and free experience! It was fun and small. We went on a cloudy/drizzly day so we were the only ones there. I brought my 10 year-old niece and 4 year-old nephew and they stayed interested in the village the whole time. We talked to a gun guy, a tailor, a printer, a couple making "radish stew" and the guy in the gift shop. ALL were EXTREMELY knowledgeable about their professions within the village as well as about the time period the village is set in. Again, it's rather small so if there isn't an event going on, the village can be done in 1-2 hours, which is great because it kept the attention of the kids.
