Carvel — Restaurant in Franklin Township

9/23/2020 - My girlfriend and I had entered the store quite soon after two guests had left. The one girl who was working there had her mass completely off and quickly put it on while she was behind the counter. What we then noticed was that her mask was falling off below her nose for most of the time while making our order even though you have signs clearly posted that face coverings must cover the mouth and nose. We came in for three things. The first was supposed to be a milkshake, but the store was out of enough of the ice cream that my girlfriend wanted so instead she got a cup of vanilla and brownie bites which came out fine enough. I ordered a medium peanut butter milkshake which was vanilla soft serve, peanut butter sauce, and peanuts mixed in. Before I had realized, the guy working there started making a small and I saw that he was struggling with the peanut butter sauce container. I asked if there was enough to make the medium like I had asked and got nothing more than a "no". So, I took my peanut butter milkshake which turned out to be more milk than shake and barely tasted like peanuts. If there wasn't enough peanut butter sauce to make even the small, he should have let me know before beginning to try to make something he couldn't even make. The last thing I ordered was a chocolate milkshake which the woman working was making. It began to overflow a little bit which was fine and she put it in a larger cup, but as she was trying to mix the remaining ice cream in her hand was strangely close to the top of the ice cream cup near the part of the machine that does the actual mixing. Neither of these employees were wearing gloves at any point during our time there. Lastly, right before we left, they forgot to give my girlfriend a spoon and brought us a plastic container filled with spoons and had us reach into the pile of spoons, probably touching more than a couple just to grab ours. It probably would have been more sanitary for them to actually reach in or properly stack the spoons in a way which is easy to grab. Usually good service,...

Awful. Went with my husband, ordered a large, this was my end result. Initially I was given my “large” in a broken waffle cone that wasn’t even 1/2 filled. Asked for a cup because cone was broken. The girl handed me a size M cup to which the ice cream I originally ordered did not even fill. I requested for the girl to please make me a new ice cream and her response “what it’s not enough ice cream for you?”. Now, I understand what a serving size is and at no time did I ask this server for her opinion on what one was. Another girl then walked up and said she would make it. She put ice cream in the cup instead this time which did not even reach the height of the edge of the cup. When my husband and I tried explaining the actual size of the large compared to the size I was given, girl 2’s response: “if I put more you wouldn’t have room for toppings”, something I didn’t order in the first place. Finally the photo below was what the girl gave me, only after saying “fine I’ll put it under the spout again, tell me when I put enough.” I honestly can’t believe this place is in business. They by the way still charged us over 12 dollars for two ice creams which weren’t even correct. Quality control and customer service at this place is seriously a necessary...

UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP So much better now!

I recently gave this Carvel another shot from a year ago and found out that it is under new ownership. They have made major improvements by investing into new equipment and machinery. Racel is a wonderful young woman who handmakes the cakes and ice cream, and she is just amazing. She always greets people with a smile. The ice creams, ice cream cakes, and flying saucers are rich and creamy, smooth and soft, and they melt in your mouth. They have a variety of ice cream flavors and toppings to indulge the whole family.

These ice cream cakes are superior to the ones bought in supermarkets. These are made fresh every 10 to 14 days, as opposed the ones sitting in a freezer for months. The quality of ice cream is even better. You can really taste the different flavors and the crunches are fresher too! You can even purchase additional crunches to take home! I bought a big cup for my family and they didn't last the night! They were delicious.
