Rutgers Plaza — Local services in Franklin Township

My favorite Stop&Shop supermarket, on busy Easton Avenue, here in the Somerset section, of Franklin Township, in central Jersey. Lots of good produce, etc, here to get, this time of year. Now, on Nov. 18, 2023, inflation is leveling off (things aren't going down in price, much, but have stopped skyrocketing up in price, for now, at least!) So, more & more "deals", are starting to appear, in all the food stores around here. And, this time of year, Thanksgiving, is the best time, to get some good deals on food, to prepare and/or cook, at home (like I do, a lot, for example!) So, I came home, loaded down with redskin potatoes, sweet potatoes, organic bananas & apples & raisins, and Florida navel oranges & mandarins, all at reasonably low cost, today. And I wasn't alone, in that store, either. Place was busy; so, it was a good deal, at a good place. Where else would I get my organic fuji apples from New Zealand, huh? Nowhere else, for sure! Ha ha ha ha...

The $1 Dollar Store is Great! Flame Kabob makes tasty kabobs, generous gyro's and Grandfathers secret sauces (RED, Green and White!) Stop and Shop is world class- with Nice employees, consistently quick In/out shopping (but you may find yourself drawn to the Bakery, Deli and Seafood counters by Ftesh Produce!) Chase Bank has a Drive-thru ATM and Burger King has "The Fastest" In/out visit times in Somerset when your minutes are precious. Also, Rutgers Plaza IS the fastest place to shop when you need to make the most of your time...yes...

This place is a "Ghostown!! Numerous businesses have closed and the stores are vacant.

Went to get a breakfast from Burger King. It was shutdown. Not just closed, but VACANT!!

In addition, there was a good Chinese Restaurant there. Now... "GONE"!!! If Stop & Shop weren't there, all of these stores would be closed....

This is an unfortunate situation, which is becoming far to often.
