I live near Olympia Park, and am mainly there on weekend mornings and some evenings after work. I've lived in the neighborhood for nearly fifteen years and am so glad to see the park being more fully utilized. My dog loves it, but just as importantly, it gets me out of my house, moving, and being with other people. I'm friendly, but fairly reclusive, so this has been good for my mental health. It's a big change for people whose homes directly border the park, and most of them are not happy about the big, quiet, empty park they used to enjoy as an extension of their yard becoming much more highly trafficked. Then as I was walking back to my car, my dog stopped to go to the bathroom and immediately after he finished, a woman stepped out of her house and watched me as I walked to my car, got a bag and cleaned it up. The whole time she stood on her porch with her arms crossed glaring at me. Really? Does she just sit at her window all day waiting for dogs to poop so she can give people death glares? The vast majority of people are responsible and respectable with their pets. Not only was driving out here a huge waste of time, but I was disrespected and judged by some woman because of other peoples actions. Do...

The ability to use the parks amenities gets cut substantially in the winter, particularly on bitter cold or snowy days.
In the busiest parts of summer, a food truck or two will stop to provide food and drinks. Otherwise, parents should be prepared to provide food and drink for any...
