I love Tri City Park. It has a wonderful wide paved walking path which can accommodate a wheelchair) around a medium sized fishing lake. Walking at an average speed most people could make it around the lake path one time in about 15 minutes . There are lots of ducks and geese around as well. There is an excellent playground with great equipment for the kids, several covered tables for setting up a picnic, wide flat stretches of grass that are perfect for playing games, and several BBQ units available. The park has many shady areas and a variety of trees and foliage available all throughout the park. There are several open areas to play as well. It is a heavily-used park with lots of people bringing both themselves and their animals for a walk after work, or for a spot of fishing and relaxation. Weekends are pretty active too. There is a large dirt covered lot on the back west side of the park that is often used for horseshoes and similar games. Covered structures can be reserved by calling ahead to the city but there are also lots of areas for informal party options scattered throughout the park with people bringing their own shade and tables. Entrance to the park is free and there are several free parking lots available inside the park scattered around the perimeter of the lake. The park is excellently maintained and very clean. We all need to be sure we are doing our part to help keep it that way every time we visit! Please use those trash cans. Bring some extra trash bags of your own if you're staging a big party there, and pick up after your pets ! With all of the outlying nooks and crannies it never feels overcrowded. My favorite time to walk is at sunset and I almost never fail to see a glorious one with the moonlight coming up on the lake and the trees silhouetted against the sky. There are two restroom buildings, one on each side of the park. Each one has at least 2 to 3 stalls and a sink with running water soap and towels. This park is extremely popular with locals in the communities of Placentia, Brea, and...
Read moreWe do enjoy this park for the most part.
I find it a pleasant place close to home to walk my dogs and with an abundance of mature trees there are plenty of shady places for picnics.
During the summer the city of Placentia has Concerts in the Park that are a great way to get out with the family for little to no cost. Last year when we went there was a few lunch trucks serving various items.
They have added an exercise circuit station that is nice.
The lake is a decent size and although I don't know what fish are living in it people do come to fish.
If you are lucky you may see the turtles sunning themselves. Ther are many benches all around the lake to stop and enjoy a sort moment.
Occasionally there are music lessons happening and you just might enjoy some classical music as well.
Some parts around the lake the water doesn't move enough and it can get kinda funky looking from the fish, turtles and water fowl.
Speaking of water fowl, they run this park. There are many Canadian Geese, various ducks, and Egyptian Geese that are fun to watch but leave behind quite the mess. Be prepared to take some of their droppings home with you.
Picnic shelters are nice and can be reserved and there is a large playground...
Read moreA beautiful public park, now including repaved pathways, an outdoor workout gym and newer public restroom’s. It’s located in Placentia, tho as the name implies, the Tri-City Park serves three cities, as it borders Fullerton and is just south of Brea. A large pond is the centerpiece to the surrounding landscape, where various waterfowl may be seen, along with fish. Anglers who are licensed, are often seen fishing from the shorelines. The park features a mostly paved walking path around the lake, with alternate dirt trails under the eucalyptus trees, to the north side. There’s picnic tables all throughout, some covered, some out in the open. Migratory and local birds will be seen at the pond, typically with coots, ducks and geese, and over the landscape with robins and hummingbirds, to name a few. Games may be played in some of the open areas, although the connected Tuffree Park is easily accessible at the south end, containing ballfields for larger team sports. Perhaps the best public amenity is the free parking, available as long as vehicles vacate by...
