Thai Specialty — Restaurant in Brea

I really enjoy little hole in the wall family restaurants. This little gem is tucked away in a large town center behind El Pollo Loco off Imperial Hwy and Kraemer. Not a lot of Thai restaurants make great Paw kra Pow minced chicken style mint leaf with basil. I must say, it was very enjoyable and tasty. Perfect amount of spice and heat. Added with soft Jasmin rice. Very well prepared. Now, why the 3 stars you say? Well, my wife ordered Chicken Pad Sew yu. The noodles and chicken were cooked but unfortunately, the broccoli was frozen and cold. Not sure how this was missed or even cooked in a hot fire wok? I believe it was taken out of the freezer, drained in cold water to thaw out and then microwave. We had to send the dish back to get it warmed up. Not the waitress fault. She was very nice and was apologetic. No worries. Nothing a hot wok can’t fix. Besides the cold broccoli and the wait time to get the food (25 minutes to get the food), the food was delicious. 1st impressions are everything. The service was good. So was the food. Would’ve been a better experience if the manager came out and apologized and maybe gave us a small discount or even a dessert (sticky rice with Mango). Big miss there. Overall. I give it 3.5 Stars. Give it a try. Don’t take my word for it. Every day might be a better experience and hopefully hot food. I will definitely give them another try to earn those 1.5 extra stars…. TBC! Ok, so this used to be my FAVORITE spot for Thai!! I noticed since management/ownership changed the quality in food downgrade😔 they removed my favorite dish from the menu " spicy Thai noodle" but I did ask if they could still make it, and they did! so I was excited.... I ordered it a few times after their change and each time it got worse and worse..... So sad! Especially when your expecting a certain taste that I would crave. My last experience there I took my kids and a friend.... We all ordered something different, and sad to say every noodle dish we order taste the same... BLAND! choice of meat in a couple were beef... And let me tell you the beef was tough and had a bad smell-taste....I was very let down. My pan fried noodles that used to have a charbroiled taste which was delicious! now offered no flavor at all. When I received my check I noticed they added gratuity.... Which I have no problem with at all ... but this was completely new, wasn't stated anywhere this charge would apply and it was a party of three adults and two kids?? I thought it was odd they applied this to a group of 5.... Server came and refilled our waters once and that was it. I'm really disappointed in service and quality of food. After being a customer for over 20 years, it looks like I'll have to find another Thai place that doesn't skimp...

Since it is a small business I was skeptical of getting vegetarian Thai food. The person who answered the phone was understanding and accommodated all requests. We ended up ordering Padthai Noodle and Panang Curry. We ordered everything without any meat or fish sauce. Everything tasted great without being too spicy or oily. Just right amount of basil without overwhelming othe spices. Definitely would ordered again.

Only reason for four stars is the prices. Order of Padthai Noodles, Panang Curry and order of Spring Rolls little over $33.
