Ding Tea is probably my favorite chain-based boba places. And I loved the drinks I got from this store in particular, until a couple nights ago when I had a terrible experience.
One of the employees was coughing everywhere into the air -- no mask, and it wasn't just a something-caught-in-the-throat kind of cough. He sounded very nasally, so he clearly had some kind of virus that's been going around this season. Who knows if it's COVID or the flu or the RSV or what?
But he was at the counter taking orders and coughing. Then he was in the kitchen area chatting up with his coworkers as they were making drinks, and he was coughing everywhere in the kitchen area as well. So his droplets were probably getting into people's drinks, onto the counters, onto his hands, which he was using to hand out drinks and straws to customers.
I sorely regretted ordering a drink that night. I ended up throwing away my drink. There goes my $6-7. I'm currently immunocompromised, so I couldn't risk anything. I should probably give only one star, but the extra star is for the good drinks that I've had before at this store.
This is the food/drink service industry. Whatever you serve up are going directly into people's mouths. Please stay home if you're sick. I'll be avoiding this store for at least a month or two until whatever virus he has makes its round. Who knows if he got his...
Read moreCame here tonight with my brother & sister in law after dinner since we were craving boba and I must say finding this place was a complete joke. On google maps it literally brings you to the verizon store. Anyway, they don’t carry certain items other locations offer that’s a strike. Service here is slow and nobody has a clue what they’re doing. We waited over 15 mins for a 3 drinks with 1 person in front of us. Somehow other people got their drinks before we got ours. The staff doesn’t wash their hands after handling cash and grabs the ice scoop with their dirty hands and throws the ice scoop back into the ice machine. Meanwhile there is literally a ice scoop holder on the ice machine. So YUM dirty ice going into your drink! The drinks were just a no for me. The Thai ice tea had too much milk. The Taro milk tea was gross and tasted super artificial and powdery. The Guava just wasn’t it. Guava and milk just doesn’t mix. The best thing was their bubbles. The sitting area was pretty clean for the most part. Wouldn’t come back...
Read moreThe rating is for the excellent service, however, for the drinks itself my husband and I would only give two stars. To be reasonable, my husband is Taiwanese, his family owned a boba shop and we lived in Taiwan for years. So my review is in no way a reflection of how poor the drinks are, we just have high standards and comparing these drinks to other Ding teas that we've been to. We would highly recommend the owner/manager of this location to try the most popular drinks at the La Mirada location as drinks taste exactly like the ones we get in Taiwan.
There is significant bitterness in the honeydew milk tea and the signature milk tea was very watery tasting as well.
Considering this location is in Brea it is definitely still...
