Plain City Public Library — Attraction in Plain City

Not sure what's going on with this library, but they do not answer their phones. Friday June 9th I had called the library to inquire about an item that i wanted. I'm from Cleveland so I found it through Search Ohio. The item showed that it was available. but when I requested the Item it said "Sorry, This title already has holds placed against it." Now this was going on for months that it showed the same message. . So i finally called the Plain City Library and explained to them the issue, I was told that it was something in their system that was causing the problem and it would be fixed later that day or the next day ( Saturday June 10th).... So I checked it again Saturday and the same problem occurred. So i decided to wait until Monday (June 12th) to see if the problem was fixed....It wasn't .So I called 4 times Between 11: 13 a.m to 12;29 p.m. and no one picked up the phone. June 13th I tried again to see if they fixed the problem through search Ohio, and it was not fixed.. So I called 30 times straight (6 or 7 times I used *67 to see if they were purposely ignoring me), between 4:14 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and again no one answered the phone....I have the phone records to prove it, and so do they. I'm not sure what the problem is, but something should be done about this on an Administrative level. I will continue to keep trying and i will continue to give a negative review until they fix the problem and answer...

Before the shut down for remodeling, we would go in 2 or more times a week and the employees knew me and my kids by name and knew just what we were looking for before we knew it ourselves! We can't wait for the grand opening in May so we can get back to one of our favorite spots. We can go spend a few hours there and then when it's time to go, we can take some of the entertainment home. 💖

UPDATE: The new remodel has the library looking awesome! There are multiple tables and quiet spaces littered throughout and the kid's storytime area is so cool now! They have also been working to update the technology to make checkouts...

A library for getting books and listening to books read (kid's story room), but not much other than that. They technically do have computers although they might be in use saying I saw two. An interesting perk is the ability to check-out vinyl records, but that's it for uncommon rentals. They have a few seats for lounging with minimal outlets and even less tables for studying nearby. For libraries in general, it's below average. For libraries based on the community they're serving, it's...
