Plain City you don’t even understand how lucky you are because this is what happens when you die! (and yes that’s a compliment) Everything we had was cooked to perfection and top tier quality. You may be thinking the fried foods look a little too done, wrong! No need to worry the batter is just unique here :) To start we shared burrata, pickled onion rings and the corn bread. The onion rings aren’t typical in the best way - the outside is light and fluffy, complimenting the pickled onion just right. The cornbread?! no brainer, order it or you’ll regret it for the rest of your life. My personal entree was the steak frites and when i say i ate every bite, i did. All steak, no fat, or gristle like some other places. The aioli that comes with it is amazing to dip everything and anything in. If i had a bottomless stomach i would have eaten everyone’s meals at the table. We were feeling glutinous and also shared all 3 desserts which were a pizookie topped with icecream, monkey bread, and a mousse pie. There are really no other words to explain how wonderful everything tasted and was presented. The folks running the show here put intentional thought and a lot of hard work to deliver this masterpiece that is called The Clocktower Kitchen and Bar.

We went to try it for the first time tonight. Walking in the service was immediate and friendly. It was however very loud since they were busy. I ended up needing to use my noise cancelling earplugs(loops) to be able to hear my own thoughts. Our server was Madyson and she was AMAZING. She answered all of my questions and was extremely friendly and helpful. We had the burrata appetizer which was okay, the sauce was delicious. We ordered the PC smashburger with truffle fries, steak frites, and kids Mac and cheese. The burger was okay, definitely not a smashburger. The truffle fries and fry sauce were delicious and I would highly recommend them. The steak frites were enjoyed with the delicious chimmichurri aioli. While my son didn't like his Mac and cheese stating he thought it was "too cheesy" I thought it was delicious and plan to eat the leftovers myself. The best part was definitely the wonderful server and service, and the truffle fires. We plan to return and try different dishes next time.

Came for dinner Fri nite and was a bit surprised by how expensive this place is, given that it’s in Plain City. It will probably be their downfall. My Fish n Chips was just okay but the fries weren’t hot. The side of brussel sprouts was good but don’t take home any leftovers as they stink up your car and frig. Wife enjoyed her pork chop plate but the mashed sweet potatoes had no seasoning, like cinn or brown sugar you normally get. The cornbread was very good but a bit pricey. Service was decent, however it appeared that the experienced wait staff is training a bunch of college age kids, so hopefully the service won’t drop. Personally didn’t see any reason to return. The atmosphere is LOUD as it is difficult to carry on a conversation at your table.

Last night we made our first visit to The Clocktower Kitchen & Bar. Overall, it was a positive experience, though there were a few service hiccups that I hope are just part of being a newer restaurant and will smooth out over time.

We had a reservation and were seated right away, but it took quite a while before our server came by with water and to take drink orders. My cocktail took longer than expected to arrive from the bar, though it was excellent once it came. Unfortunately, our drinks were nearly gone before our server returned to check on us, at which point we ordered appetizers.

We chose three: the chorizo dip, pickled onion rings, and poblano cornbread. There was a long wait before they reached our table, and our server had to double-check the order. The dip and onion rings arrived together, while the cornbread didn’t come until we were almost finished with the first two. That said, the food itself was worth trying:

The chorizo dip was outstanding — we easily could have eaten another round.

The pickled onion rings were unique and delicious. The pickling gave them a tender texture and mellow flavor, and the light breading paired perfectly with the ranch dipping sauce.

The poblano cornbread had good flavor but wasn’t our favorite. It was dry and crumbly (perhaps due to being gluten-free) rather than moist, which is more my preference.

For entrées, two of us had the pan-seared salmon with chili crispy cucumbers and enjoyed it. Another had the smashburger and fries, which was also a hit. I ordered the steak frites — the steak was cooked to the right temperature and tender, but it lacked seasoning. A touch of salt and pepper would have made it perfect. The fries, however, were excellent.

Overall, the food quality met our expectations and we’d definitely return. The service still needs some polish — from wait times, to pacing, to accuracy (our bill even had one entrée listed on the wrong check). Still, we see a lot of potential here. With a few tweaks, The Clocktower Kitchen & Bar could easily become a...

As people who have lived in plain city our entire lives my wife and I are so happy to have a reseraunt locally we can go on an impromptu date!

We have been driving past and looking at the clocktower ever since we were kids, used it as a landmark for friends from out of town, now we will just take them there instead!

It was a such and awesome experience to eat in a building that has so much history for my family, dating back to my great grandparents!

On to the meal itself, our server Deborah was a real pro, guided us through the menu and she didn't miss with any of her recommendations.

My wife and tried both of the mocktails once menu both were great!

Cornbread was very unique and was fantastic!

The Cajun shrimp appetizer stole the show! If you like shrimp it's a must try!

We got the pork chop and roasted chicken for our meal, both of which were very good and blended different flavors nicely!

The cookie was incredible, I was however to full to eat much of it!

10/10 will frequent this place!

If you have lived here a long time, please try this place, it is a welcome addition and they are doing the...
