Cedar Brook Park — Attraction in Plainfield

I grew up in Plainfield with most my family members. As a youth I participated The Neighborhood House Student Council, The Drill Team, even worked there as a youth counselor one summer. I was a member of the Hannah Atkins student council team with, Elston Long, Keith or his brother Terry Phillips, Mitsy their sister (RIP) & Sherry Chambers, & Rob Jones. The Community Centers were Everything...The Plainfield Science Center, The SSYC Youth Center...All my childhood memories were derived in those communities, where I met inspiring adults such as Mrs. Hannah Atkins & Mr. Harrison just to name a few, and not to forget... My Forever Friends. I Love Plainfield & Cedarbrook Park was where oftentimes I could reunite with most of my friends of my youth @ The Music In park events. One of my Fondest memories of Cedarbrook Park is meeting my loving friend Kyle Cassett (RIP) each Saturday & Sunday & during the week to walk the park trails, to meet & have lunch or just to sit and laugh & talk. Kyle loved going to Cedarbrook Park...He too would see many friends & classmates he would talk & laugh with. WHAT...

A little surprised it has a 4.4/5 score here. I used to work near Plainfield another lifetime ago. I was hoping for some nostalgia and to have found a hidden gem of a park here by the reviews. Place was all right, not the best maintained in certain spots. Plenty of nicer parks in the area. But still some good paths for walking and other people here seemed friendly.

Cedar Brook Park is a good park and it is very big but I can't give it a 5⭐ because I'm not sure if it's the people or the city. But it just needs to be tooking more care of and if it's the people we need to step up and clean it after using the park a little better. But I had a great time with friends the other day.
