Shawnee Park — Attraction in Plano

Four stars only because of the walking trail running within the Disc Golf course.

I walked to the Shawnee Park after my summer classes at Collin College at Spring Creek.

It had been over a year since I had been to the park, particularly the Disc Golf course. Wow! What improvements! The Disc Golf course redesign utilizes the park's real estate surrounding the "lake". The park was very well maintained; clean of trash, freshly mowed and meticulously edged. The park has a nice concrete walking trail, and an awesome little playground for the kiddos.

I only intended on looking the redesigned course over, but as I approached the playground area I found a high speed Disc Golf driver on hole 18's fairway. Soooo, I stayed and shot a 56 [w/no OB strokes!] playing a "one disc round" with that beat in Innova Star Wraith that Spencer had accidentally forgotten on 18. My local Frisbee Park! This place is rad...people come out there all the time to frisbee. Most are friendly and good natured, I have never met a mean frisbee'er :)) The park has 18 holes. A great activity for the family and some good mild exercise... Much more enjoyable when it's temperate!!

P.S. be CAREFUL not to lose your frisbee in the jungle-like areas surrounding the course! One bad throw and a decent swing and you're digging through bushes and sliding down a cliff to retrieve your frisbee... Better safe than sorry!! But... It is all part of the...

Beautiful park with lot to offer. .This park has public restroom, next to a small lake featuring disc golf, fishing pier, Sand Volleyball field, basketball field & playground. lots of street lights around the park, small parking lot, saw some kids swimming in the pond, people are fishing at the pier. lots of shading trees. A great place to play disc golf at. Beginner level since most of them are straight shots.
