We happened to be present on the arcade side when a tornado warning was issued. We didn't feel safe there so we made our way towards the door to take shelter at home in our basement, which wasn't far away. On our way out, my youngest collapsed on the floor. She wasn't feeling well, and was having a tantrum on top of it. We took a few steps to try to convince her to come with us, but when it was obvious that she was incapable, my wife went back to help her up, and I stood waiting not far from the entrance with my oldest.
Meanwhile, the person that I believe was the manager came over and yelled at me that I needed to go to the bathroom or leave the premises. I assured him I understood and that we'd be leaving as soon as my wife collected my youngest, but he wasn't trying to hear that. I understood that MJ's was probably responsible for the folks onsite during a severe weather incident, but I wasn't going to leave my wife and child behind. Maybe he was just having a bad day, or doesn't have kids and didn't understand, but he began to yell louder and berate me, telling me how foolish I was to stand there. I explained the situation again, and told him I would leave as soon as I have the other half of my family.
The manager escalated again, getting in front of me, acting like he wanted to fight. One of his female coworkers came over, and I tried to defuse the situation and told him I understood his duties and that we'd be leaving in a moment, but that seemed to enrage him even more. He then said some other rude comments gave me his name and DARED me to write a negative review. "Wow... this guy isn't playing with a full deck of cards," I thought to myself! Once my wife joined us with our youngest, we walked out of the door.
As I loaded the kids into the car, I couldn't believe how the situation started and how quickly it escalated. My oldest heard everything and asked why that guy was being sOoOo rude, and I couldn't offer a good explanation (because there really wasn't any).
Honestly, I'm not even mad, but I sincerely hope that the Malibu Jack's owners have access to the video and audio feed from the evening of 6/3/25 from the SW part of the arcade and can use it as a learning experience and a teaching moment for the rest of the staff. What an embarrassment for the manager. :( I also hope that the manager gets the help that he needs... whether that be with a therapist, anger management courses, or leadership training.
Suffice it to say, as long as Carlos is the manager (I think that was the name he threatened me with) and all things being equal, my family will not be going...
Read moreFirst and last time ever there… was there tonight with a birthday party large group the person that paid for the party was told the place closed at 9 party started at 5pm our group had a party space from 5-630 and then was asked to move to the table area which was fine we moved at 8pm older lady assuming she is a manager came over to our group and very unprofessional and rude said “I’ve announced 10 times we close at 8pm you need to leave!” My 14 year old stated to the lady that she didn’t have to be rude I being the mother said something to my child and this lady comes back to our group telling us to Leave and put all our chairs up on the tables and proceeded to try and scold my child about being disrespectful and running her mouth then at this time I intervened tried telling this grown woman that our party did not hear her announcement and that we were leaving she then proceeds to try and yell at me while also talking to one of her coworkers about my daughter referring to my child inappropriately an argument took place between me and this lady due to her unprofessional behavior and the way she talked to our group. We were never disrespectful the whole time we were there, there was barely any other customers there the place was empty and multiple employees stated they didn’t know they were closing at 8pm either. Their police officer was right there and agreed that the lady was rude and disrespectful. The price of this place is ridiculous and with the employees treating customers like they do trying to talk to grown people like we are children I see why this place had no customers and at this rate this place will not last. Little did this lady know our group was filled with local business owners and this is absolutely not how to retain customers especially with the price and value of the activities totally not worth it. This place will be closed down it’s a waste of time money and their employees have no business working in what is suppose to be a family environment. This lady thought she could talk and act in a disrespectful way because there was a cop there. Word of mouth travels faster than anything and in our community best believe our group will be spreading the behavior and poor atmosphere. Every where our group goes we are always a large group so this little business lost us and soon to be many others. I feel bad for who the owners are because they sunk a lot of money that due to the poor quality of employees...
Read moreI was disappointed with the visit. Took 4 boys age 3 twins and 6 & 7 year olds. There's only 1 area for little kids and parents can't even sit and drink a soda while trapped in there with the little ones. No beverages allowed (even though I saw a big gulp and a bottle of yahoo on the shelf by the shoes).
The bigger kids spent $45 in the arcade and came out with 4 tickets between them plus a prize of 100 tickets won in a machine. We actually came just to ride the roller coaster (the kids hosted a lemonade stand to save up for the roller coaster) but it was unattended and had posted times the ride was allegedly running. (20, 40, and 00)
We wandered around and waited twice in a row (so for like a half hour waiting & wandering and not playing anything so we could save the Malibu bucks for the ride we came for) and no one showed up. Twice. That's when we decided it must be broken and the kids went to the arcade instead.
When we were leaving, we waited another 10 minutes in the store to use the prize tickets and no one was attending the counters and no employees in sight. We decided to get the kids candy at the gas station instead of standing in the store any longer. On our way out, the roller coaster had several riders, which of course made my older ones start crying because that's the whole reason we came. We waited for it twice!!
With the amount of money we spent there tonight we could have bought two day passes to Adventureland. I don't see how a single parent with a young one and an older one can go at all.
My husband tried to take the twins to change their diapers and the men's bathroom diaper changing station was broken. The lady in the little kids area tried to scold me by telling me that the bouncy house was for ages three and under when the twins JUST turned 3.
That was just a misunderstanding but it was super annoying because she just recited the rules to me and handed me a little paper with the rules on it and basically accused me of not following the rules in our 1st 2 minutes there.
Anyway, this place is not for us and I don't plan to return ever. I would never recommend this experience to a parent.
There's exactly one game that's $1 and all others are close to $2 or...
