It’s a great place for games and other isu events. Though if you’re planning to take your dog here to play, please understand it’s not a designated dog park. ISU students often have service animals that need to relief themselves and this is where they often go to do it. Granted you can let your dog off leash and it’s fine but if someone does have a dog on leash please respect their choices. It doesn’t matter if the dog is friendly or not, if you choose to have your dog off leash please respect those of us who keep our dogs on leash. If a person on leash is body blocking or protecting our dog there are reasons for it. Not only are we protecting our dog but we are also protecting yours. NOT ALL DOGS GET ALONG. Read moreBartz Field is a great place to enjoy any outdoor activity that requires a large grassy area. There are steep, long hills on the South end that are great for sledding in the winter.
It's also one of only a small handful of off-leash dog areas in the town, and it's really quite a large area to enjoy. It's large enough that many different groups could have their dogs off leash, and you could still feel like the only people there.
