Last week I reluctantly took my beloved 8 year of Riccar vacuum in for a tune up. I had put this wonderful machine through the ringer and it showed. The kind staff at Jones Sew & Vac were very willing to put humpty dumpty back together again and had all the parts I needed in stock. Then they showed my the latest and greatest Riccar from their 2015 series. It was on sale as the 2016 would be arriving soon. I made the leap and purchased a new vacuum.
Is it possible to love a vacuum? I think so! So many amazing new features but my two favorites are the tool extension that allows me to vacuum my stairs without lifting the vacuum. The other is the tool to remove animal hair from furniture. With 2 dogs and 3 cats I have tried everything. This is without question the BEST hair removal attachment I have every used!
You can purchase a vacuum anywhere, Walmart, Freddies. But when you need it repaired do you really want to deal with sending it in, dealing with the warranty, etc? BUY LOCAL! They stand behind what they sell and are great...
Read moreJones Sew and Vac not a gorilla good store. Edit since writing this review several months ago I have had multiple people message me with the same concerns. Sooooo..,? Are the owners even paying attention? Jones Sew & Vac not a gorilla good store. I went in there looking for a vacuum belt, because Walmart doesn't sell them anymore. The repair guy was extremely agitated, with bloodshot eyes and even though I asked him the same question multiple times he was unable to understand it. I'm pretty sure this dude was under the influence of something. I had a part number which matched a tag on their wall with a bunch of belts on it, but they had different numbers listed on them. That happens sometimes when dealing with generic parts. I asked him multiple multiple times if the belts hanging on that hook were the generic for the part number that I needed and he just couldn't understand. I recommend going to any other janitorial supply company if you have any needs for...
Read moreMy sewing students complain because after a complete machine tune-up machines still don't work, and when they are brought back they are told, "This is a new problem so the warranty doesn't cover it." Also, repairs are often not done in a timely manner even when students have brought them in long before they need them and been promised the machines back by a certain date. Myself, I asked about Pfaff machines that can be used overseas with 50 Hz/220 V power. The man in the repair section didn't appear to understand what I was talking about (scary for someone who repairs electrical and electronic equipment) and finally said, "We carry every Pfaff machine made, so just look at them." Since they only had a few models, I knew this was untrue, and just left. The other sewing machine shops in Pocatello have much better reputations and far more...
