Sunset Motel — Attraction in Pomona

Once arriving at the motel, I buzzed for the manager to get my room key. On entering the room, it was very clean and had everything we needed. The refrigerator worked fine but the turn table in the microwave was not working right. Later on that night, after being out all day, there was a hypodermic needle in front of the space that I parked in. I went to the office and buzzed for the manager to let her know. She responded with "nobody has been in your room". I wasn't insinuating that. I wanted her to move it because I didn't want to touch it and I had my daughters with me and I didn't want them to be in contact with it. The next morning, the needle hadn't been moved and so I kicked it across the parking lot in front of the managers office and let the armed security guard know. After returning to our room from our day trip, the housekeeping hadn't gone into our room to replace any of the towels that we used or make the beds. Fortunately, we didn't need any of the amenities that were left in the room (soap, razor, toothbrush, etc.). The neighborhood was less than desirable. I was flipping through the TV channels and saw a porno channel that was very inappropriate for anyone who is staying there with children. I try to stay in Pomona when visiting Mt. SAC College each year for the track meet relays. Mission Blvd. is somewhat run down, but I have not had any problems there. The motel room was clean, up to date and fine by me at a great rate for CA. The bed was giganic, the bathroom large and very clean and it has a flat panel TV. There was also a nice couch and coffee table in the back of the room along with a small table and chairs in the front of the room. The motel is right next door to the Golden Ox Cafe which serves a wide variety of Mexican and American foods. And right accross the street is the El Cantarito Mexican restaurant and fresh juice bar.
