The Banyan facility at Stuart actually made effort to contact and work with patients and their family. This facility, run by an absolutely unprofessional joke (James) completely disregarded the prior facility’s treatment plan, and disregarded a patient’s therapist input that had been part of the patient’s original plan from the beginning.
James has made it incredibly clear that this particular facility is run by how much money they can effectively drain from the insurance company.
The patients are subjected to overcrowded quarters, bed bugs, and despite patients going to what they thought would be “Relapse Prevention” they were completely dismissed when asking for information sheets, as the overcrowded meeting was dominated by one patient while the others were forced to listen to that person’s particular individual matters and effectively none of the 50+ others learned anything from the meeting besides of one patient’s personal life. The group leader couldn’t control the room.
When patient asked for information on relapse recovery/prevention, they were effectively shooed off and told “they’ll get it at some point.”
James has followed NONE of the recommendations of treatment plans from the prior facility, BAD MOUTHING another coordinator and dismissing them to tell patients “they don’t know what they are doing.”
They string patients along to get as much money as possible, and this particular location DOES NOT care about individual’s needs AT ALL. The patients who come here yearning for help are lost amongst the crowd. How can you have only 8 therapists for just under 100 patients who are all crammed like sardines?
How can you wait several days in between communicating and not even allow patients to meet their case manager for the entire first week they transferred into this POORLY RUN MONEY HUNGRY FACILITY!
If you truly want professionalism and quality care, the Stuart location branch of Banyan is where you or loved ones should go.
James is completely incompetent, inconsistent, outright lies and and manipulates treatment plans to what seems to drag insurance along to collect more money. What an absolutely demoralizing experience for those who are truly wanting help.
James- you should be ashamed of yourself for badmouthing staff at other locations who went above and beyond to make a difference for patients, while you lied to patients, their families, and other coordinators.
How can a facility promise family visitation, but then say patients cannot have visitation due to Covid, but cram people in rooms with bed bugs?
How can they convince the patients to come here promising regular video calls, but their equipment is conveniently “not set up for that” after the patient arrives?
JAMES, DO BETTER- Absolutely shameful and the worst example of a professional I have ever encountered. You should immediately be revoked of your position.
You don’t say whatever you think other facilities and patients want to hear just to get more $$$ through the door. You don’t promise that you’ll follow the treatment plan and then don’t. You don’t tell patients they will receive individual therapy and then say “whoops sorry, group therapy only” when once in the door.
As a business professional, I can comment that this is a well known UNETHICAL tactic called a “bait and switch.” Your moral compass is completely broken James, you are absolutely as lowly as the bedbugs that are in the mattresses of your poorly run facility.
UPDATE;
Just letting anyone who is interested know that the facility had rats, besides bed bugs, and patients were getting drugs from a drug apartment next door, as well as snorting their medications.
I can confirm from another review that the staff does text and smirk, making fun of whoever is in the facility. Experienced it first hand. They tried to block my exit leaving the building with 4 technicians. I have videos and photos. James denied conversations where he was caught in multiple lies never took place, meanwhile we have over 6 witnesses that HEARD AND WITNESSED the conversation on...
Read moreI'll never forget the array of different feelings and emotions I had going on upon my entry to Banyan. At first I felt strong feelings of guilt and shame considering this wasn't my first rodeo, and the immense realization set in that I was really back in treatment again. After that, I was angry and bitter and I treated everyone around me, especially the staff, with such disrespect. Their only reactions towards me? Compassion and motivation. They smothered me with love, motivation, and hope. I've been to other treatment centers where they were just a walk in the park. Yeah, I'm not going to lie... they were nice, but did they teach me anything? Nope. Being forced to go to groups every day and listen to other people's problems when all I could think about was myself, and having to see the real truth in what I was dealing with -- with this serious disease that we were all going through was the absolute last thing I wanted to do. But you know what? Those things, along with all the other "painful and unfair" things that we are forced to do there; (cooking, cleaning, one on one therapy), are the main things that helped me to want to get better in the end. I didn't think I was going to make it through a single day there, but I left that program feeling not only happy and healthy. I also had an overwhelming sense of gratitude for every staff member there and for everything they had done for me..and just feeling grateful for being alive..something I hadn't felt in such a long time. Some people can try and say they're only in it for the money, and unfortunately there are some other treatment centers out there like that, but I know personally and can say whole-heartedly that the owners and staff at Banyan truly do care about each and every one of their clients. I would recommend this treatment center to any fellow addict in need I happen to come across in the future, as well as to any family member or friend looking for a safe and trustworthy place to guide their loved one...
