My partner and I recently visited Zuccarelli East for the second time, and it exceeded our expectations. We were greeted warmly and seated promptly; we felt recognized even if we weren’t—5 of 5 stars.
We started our meal with soups. I had the minestrone, which was hearty and flavorful and filled with fresh vegetables and a tomato-based broth. My partner opted for the Italian wedding soup, which was equally delicious, with tender meatballs and escarole in a rich broth—4 of 5 stars.
I had the stuffed shells, which were exceptional. The pasta shell was cooked perfectly, and the ricotta filling was creamy, topped with their sauce marinara and melted mozzarella—5 of 5 stars.
My partner enjoyed the sausage and broccoli rabe with penne. The sausage was well-seasoned and cooked perfectly, while the broccoli rabe added a nice bitter contrast to the savory meat and pasta. The sauce could have used more salt or seasoning, but it was quickly rectified with some grated Parmigiano Reggiano. The portion size was generous—4 of 5 stars.
To finish our meal, we couldn't resist having a cannoli. We each had one– the shell was crispy, and the filling was creamy with just the right amount of sweetness. The whipped cream was from a can, but I grew up on that and never turned my nose at it—4 of 5 stars.
Overall, Zuccarelli East offers an authentic and memorable Italian dining experience. The service is impeccable, and the food is consistently delicious. We will be returning soon—...
Read moreI was really excited to try this restaurant, but I would not recommend this restaurant after my experience. It started well, my wife and I were given a seat without a wait. Following that we waited atleast 15 minutes and never saw our waitress, never received a drink. I made eye contact with other waitresses that did not come to the table to atleast offer us a drink or an explanation of what was causing the delay. The hostess came back to our table at least twice saying that she had informed our waitress and she was coming. Meanwhile two other parties of two came in after us, and met their waitress as well as received drinks.
We eventually were getting up to leave, when our waitress arrived mid explanation from the hostess on the delay. The waitress, Michele, looked like we were a nuisance to her. She never apologized, never explained what happened.
After ordering, we changed to wanting to take out our meal. She then made a smart remark to the hostess about it, which we could see from our table. Still no apology or anything.
The food was good, not great, but that could've been soured by the horrible service. I've been to many restaurants, busier than this that atleast would stop by and get a drink for you, or apologize for a delay. The restaurant appeared steady, not busy. It really made it hard to excuse the behavior and the cattiness of...
Read moreOn the hunt for old-world Italian recipes & the best garlic rolls (the perfect kind that are pull-apart chewy inside & crispy outside with fresh garlic, parm, & olive oil)?! This is the place! Wonderful family-run business with authentic Italian dishes. Very relaxed & casual atmosphere with a cute corner wine bar & reasonable prices that will make you do a double-take at the menu, considering how many chains are rapidly increasing their prices these days. You’ll also feel like the clock turned back to old-school friendly and attentive service! One gentleman even walked us to our car with an umbrella in a torrential downpour after our meal! Our server was sweet & offered to bring extra rolls, napkins, top off drinks, etc., before we even had to ask. I enjoyed watching another server interact with other customers as he’d laugh with them and not just serve their pizza (as in put it on the table) but SERVE their pizza: cut and plate it with the all the stringy cheese salvaged. And I repeatedly heard him say, “God bless!” to each party as they left. How refreshing! The food is made with love, & all of the staff are the kind of people who made us feel welcomed like old friends even though it was our first time in while visiting from out of town! But it definitely won’t...
