This charming coffee shop is located in the Park Plaza on Federal Highway in Pompano Beach. The Little Coffee Shoppe was opened by Venezuelan transplants Ronald and Dana Medina who came to the U.S. seven years ago. They opened their first coffee shop in Coral Springs where they were drawn to the family friendly community and the opportunity it provided to serve the community. Their success in Coral Springs has allowed them to expand to Pompano last year. The coffee section of the menu includes craft coffee, frapps, espressos, and lattes made with beans from 360 F Coffee Roasters in Coral Springs. They also offer tea and power greens. The rest of the menu showcases their Latin heritage with arepas, empanadas, tequenos, cachapas, avocado toast, French toast, quesadillas, salads, and desserts. I had previously been to the Coral Springs location. The inside of the Pompano location is very welcoming with tables and chairs and a cozy seating area. For my afternoon pick me up I ordered a chai tea and an almond croissant. The drink was exactly what I was craving and I appreciate that they took the time to warm up the croissant for me. It was fresh with the perfect amount of almond filling encased in buttery pastry. I love supporting small local businesses and based on the great service I experienced, I would pick recommend The Little Coffee Shop over that large chain coffee purveyor.

Was super excited to go here based on the reviews. In town for a weekend get away. Place is adorable. Never been there before and was asking questions to the barista and I assume the manager. Not very forthcoming with information at all. The manager was on her cellphone and kept saying "WHAT? WHAT?" and the young barista was more interested in the music playing than our questions. Went with 2 Vanilla Cold Brew's and 2 Breakfast Quesadilla's. $40 bucks ish. The vanilla was so sweet it was overpowering and gross. Had to ask for them to remake it was half the amount. They only have one size for almost $5. Felt like we were bothering them when we asked. Food comes out. It was good but we left hungry still. Very small portions. Overpriced. Overrated. You want a nice cool hip place to hang out then come here but you can get that at Starbucks and it's actually worth the price. I get the idea but IMHO execution was meh. I'm sure the local bougie people love this place. I can get a better product and value from a WaWa than this and save $30 ish bucks. 2 stars for the decorating though. Wouldn't come back for anything else. It is what it is I guess.

* Update: happy to report that I returned the next day (morning) and the croissant was fresh. The chai was just as delicious as the day before! Initial review: Finally… a coffee shop in South Florida that knows how to make a proper hot chai! I’m originally from up north, where finding a perfectly crafted chai latte is easy. It’s taken me three years to find one here, and The Little Coffee Shoppe delivered. The balance of cream, spice, and temperature was spot on. The best part? It doesn’t taste like the overly sweet boxed chai concentrate that most shops around here rely on—which was such a refreshing change. The only thing that would have taken it to the next level is if the milk had been organic. I also had a croissant, which, unfortunately, was stale. I did go right before closing on a Friday, so that might explain it. I’m open to giving that another shot. That said, the chai more than made up for it— and I’ll definitely be back. Even if the pastries don’t redeem themselves, I’ll be a regular for the chai alone!

Chaz Stevens' Unfiltered Take on "A Little Coffee Shop"

Ah, Saturday morning—sun shining, birds chirping, and me hankering for a caffeine jolt that would put a spring in my step. So, we roll into A Little Coffee Shop, a charmingly-named joint promising artisanal brews and good vibes.

The place? Humming with a mostly full house. The vibe? Friendly staff, clean environment, and bathed in beautiful light that screams “Instagram me!” But here’s the thing: the clock didn’t scream; it groaned.

Twenty. Long. Minutes. That’s how long it took to deliver my iced latte. By the time it arrived, my enthusiasm had all but evaporated. Was it life-changing? Nah. It was... fine. You know, the kind of coffee you drink and immediately start imagining the next cup from somewhere else.

Now, I have a go-to metric for these situations: Would I come back? And as I scanned the room and heard the grumbles from my caffeine-deprived comrades, the answer became pretty clear. With Foxtail Coffee just two miles down the road? That's where my wheels will turn next time.

Look, the staff here is friendly, the ambiance is solid, and the cleanliness? Impeccable. But coffee isn’t just about the drink; it’s about the delivery. And when your brew takes longer to show up than my last Amazon order, you’ve got a problem.

Verdict: Decent coffee, painfully slow execution. It’s a “no”...

I would like to express that this is my first and only review that I will ever do. This morning I came into the little coffee shop, ordered a bagel, breakfast sandwich and avocado toast. A fresh mango juice and a cold brew coffee. Coffee came out relatively fast. Waited 25 minutes for the food. I get told that they don’t have everything bagels so I say a plain bagel is fine. We get our food 25 minutes later And to a surprise, I have everything bagel. That’s good news I like it. Here’s where the bad news starts The young lady at the front counter was very rude and ignorant when taking our order. When I got my food, my breakfast sandwich was supposed to have bacon on it and it did not have anything on it other than egg and cheese, lettuce, and tomato. So then we proceed to go inside and now the gentleman at the counter is very ignorant very rude telling us that the breakfast sandwich does not come with any protein. Obviously, he doesn’t know his menu too well because the screen behind him says him I wanted bacon. The menu clearly states that the breakfast sandwich comes with bacon. When I go back inside to ask for bacon, they tell me it’s $1.25 up charge ( Mind you I spent $40 on those four things). I would also like to express that your guys‘s days are numbered here once bagel co. opens up. Over priced...
