Would I visit again? Yea but not anytime soon. Would I go out of my way? No. It's definitely not for kids younger than 3/4 years old. Can a 2 yr old play here yea but it's not for them. The only area that's really for them is this dog house playhouse WITH A SAND PIT THING. I did not go there because I don't wanna deal with a sandy kid.
The next area age up is the sailboat & that was cute with musical drums, a smaller slide, steps. But only one side of the front of the ship was safe for a younger kid. The backside of the ship had steps leading to big dropoffs to rope climbing things. So that's why I say it's not entirely great for younger kids. I will say, if you have multiple children like a 6 yr old & a young one then I can see both boat area & gator area to work for you.
The gator area, the younger kids can walk on the "ground floor" while the rest is for older kids like 5/6 yrs old or even older because there are highpoints.
The other area is a climbing rope course. It's neat. But it's for much older kids. Like 8/9+
All of these areas are neat. Will younger & older kids want to be in all areas yes but there are clear limitations for the younger kids. I can appreciate the placementnof the water area being away from the gator & sailboat playgrounds so little ones dont run to the water. So if you dont want your kids getting wet then you can avoid the area. But once you go near the swings theyll see it. I got there by 9/930am on a Saturday. I found a parking spot pretty easily. Left by 1030am and the parking lot was PACKED! Parking lot spaces are big so that's nice.
I'd rather drive to boca and go to sugar sand park or...
Read moreBest Children's Park on the Treasure Coast! We live in PSL but used to drive to Kiwannis Park in Stuart (as it used to be the best park in the area). Well, Pioneer Park has surpassed it! As others have said, the concept is brilliant - lots of nice natural shade (due to the park being built amongst lots of trees and greenery), right next to the river, well-constructed playground structures, a splash pad, giant chalkboard, bathrooms, water refill stations, shower rinse-off and park rangers who help maintain the park. There are also plans to build a nature walk in the adjacent wooded area. Plus, you have the riverwalk with plans to build restaurants and shops along it. Also, the Botanical Gardens are right next door. Once the trails, shops and restaurants are completed, this will be an area that both children and adults will want to spend all day!
Minor complaint: The parking situation is not great. The lot fills up quickly and there are not enough spaces. Cars kept circling...waiting for a space to open up. Some started parking in the grass. They definitely need to expand the parking lot - especially since the city plans to expand...
Read moreVery nice brand spanking new playground/ park area with dock and decent sized bridge that can be fished from. Playground and bathroom were spotless clean. All play areas were very nicely made and colorful with interesting designs. There's a huge chawlkboard for cool coloring. Park workers are there to wash the wall once it gets filled up. They also watch the splash pad area. The landscape inside the playground was appealing also. The park itself has a small turf "stadium like" set up facing the river for areas where we can enjoy a picnic or an event. Very many beautiful photo opportunities and lots of area to walk around and enjoy the fresh air. Plenty of benches and areas to sit. Dogs were...
