Meadows Shopping Center — Attraction in Portage

I shop at Strack & VanTil periodically, or if I need a specialty item. Also, the fresh Sushi "bar" draws me in!! However, Sushi & Edamame(soybeans in pod or shelled) somewhat go hand in hand, at least in American Sushi Bars. WHY, was it discontinued? I was hoping that maybe Stracks decided to sell it along side of the Sushi offerings. Besides that, Stracks to me is somewhat of a tradition!! Starting w/Stracks in Highland(Griffith/Highland border line). My Dad, W.J. FOERSTER was the Architect for indoor design of ALL Stracks & Wiseway stores. Benchwarmers Grille is a restaurant located in the shopping center. Great food. Friendly employees. Reasonable prices. I get takeout 2 to three times a week from here. The only downside I've had, are the fries and Tatar tots do not travel well. I tend to not get them or order other sides. I've tried many of the items on the menu. There are signs every so many feet that clearly say, NO PARKING. But everyone parks in front of the business they are going into. There have been several times I have almost gotten hit by people just pulling out, not paying attention to what's going on around them, or who's around them, they just pull out of a no-parking spot and keep going.
