Portland Oregon has some of the nicest city parks you will ever see, very well maintained set in a natural surrounding always welcoming and certainly a great place for a walk a jog peace and quiet a picnic time with your pets and a hundred other things you can do on a nice day. But Columbia Park and the Columbia Park annex which is across Lombard Street is an absolute joy and so refreshing to partake on a cool fall day. we chose this day to enjoy our lunch from the twilight room a couple of tasty burgers we'd enjoyed in the rays of warm sunshine at a picnic table located close to the tennis courts. The park is very well maintained and feels very safe and comfortable. You can see mothers with their infants, you can see young children playing at the playground, people exercising people spending time with their dogs and it's just an absolute wonderful glimpse of Americana especially in our wonderful city where city parks like this are littered throughout the community for all citizens to enjoy. I think many times in the hustle bustle of our lives taking care of our families and building our careers we forget those times where we could quietly head to our community park and sit amongst the trees and listen to the birds and watch the children play and watch the afternoon passes by with little or no stress. This may all sound corny and humdrum to the busy portlander but I challenge anyone to visit one of our beautiful city parks, especially my favorites Columbia Park, peninsula Park, albina Park, and Washington Park. If you're visiting our city take an afternoon to lunch with a friend or if you have some time to kill simply park your car and take a walk and breathe in the fresh air and visualize the comforts of...
Read moreThe kids enjoy it. It's huge, and we've been here for a variety of reasons. From baby showers and birthdays to baseball and softball games. The kids really enjoy coming here on a hot day during the summer to enjoy the water splash pad and grab a bite of the free lunch program they have during the Summer. Once in a while, they'll linger over to the games and arts and crafts that are set out while the lunch program is running. The park has access to shade or direct sunlight, so it's nice to be able to go between when needed. I haven't had any issues of feeling unsafe or really even seen any bad behavior or issues while here. With the way our city is doing with violence, particularly gun violence, it's really important that we feel safe. I can't say the same for all of our...
