this neighborhood watering hole and eating establishment has been a Mainstay in North Portland since I was a single man in the late 70s. But last night Monday night was exceptionally outstanding as the wife and I when for a casual meal but also wanting to catch the end of the Blazer Sacramento game. She had a Reuben hold the sauerkraut and thousand island, and me? Had the rooster Burger which is a burger with bacon cheese BBQ and peanut butter and let me tell you that mess of goo is absolutely fantastic. The service at night is always outstanding we usually have the bartender help us and no matter who it is they are always on point. The service staff here works very hard to take care of everybody. We had a wonderful meal and the wife was so impressed she hunted the lady Chef down and we gave her five bucks cuz that was one of the best pastrami sandwiches ever. In fact a lady playing pool stopped her and asked her what that meat filled grab bag of a sandwich was? I highly recommend the Twilight Room it is a neighborhood favorite and they have a very unique and diversified menu a lot of great tasting beer and an Ambience to die for. You feel comfortable and welcome and they even open up their back outdoor patio even though it's flipping freezing cold people can step out and have a smoke and relax. If you have not gone to the Twilight Room you are truly missing out on the flavor of old time Portland a neighborhood Tavern with great food supported by a wonderful neighborhood of portlanders that say the Twilight Room will be here for another 30 years. God bless...
Read moreThis is my favorite dive bar in Portland. It's my own version of Cheers, where everyone knows my name and my beer. There's pool tables, video games, and video lottery. And you can bring minors in to half of the bar until 9.
They've got a lot of food options, and I've never had anything I didn't like. There's tons of beer on tap, and all the bartenders can make a good mixed drink or cocktail.
It can get a little crowded on Taco Tuesday when the college kids are in school, but it's still a great place to hang out because of the incredibly diverse crowd that frequents this place. There's always someone to talk to, and I've met some really cool people here.
They also do a lot of charity fundraisers throughout the year, which I think is wonderful. Who doesn't wanna drink for charity?
All in all it's a great bar, and if you come down and...
Read moreBest bar ever. I love that it's walking distance from UP - I came here constantly after I turned 21 in undergrad and then again when I returned in grad school. A heads up, Thursdays are filled with college students even in the summer. The drinks are cheaper then and a lot of groups will decide to go together to celebrate being practically done with the week. For me, that's exactly what I want when I come, but if you're not about that life, it's a bit calmer on other nights. I highly recommend hanging out outside during the summer to play cornhole or socialize with whomever. But during the winter, the booths are where it's at. I've since moved across the country but even so I know I'll come back to the T-Room any time I'm in Portland. It honestly feels more like home than any of the places I ever lived...
