The vegan 5th Avenue was delicious. The wait times are worth the delicious food, and the shack is nestled into such a nice part of town. This is my boyfriend's favorite waffle shack. He talked it up before and through the duration of a five day road trip on our way to the area. I was not disappointed!
As for COVID precautions - we arrived without masks because we would be outside the whole time. It was REALLY REFRESHING, as someone who recently left a red state, to see an abundance of masks outside. It ended up working out well enough, we stood off to the side and out of everybody's way, and we were really pleased with what we saw.

Today I accidentally purchased a meat sausage waffle, thinking I was getting veggie sausage (which was .50 cents more) he didn’t make me pay the difference. Very friendly! Only recommendation is to get a heater and place it near the ordering window, and one near the picnic table during these winter months... it would really help keep people coming all winter, something portable you could bring in at close...
