During my vacation in Texas, I visited several GameStop locations, all of which offered a military veteran discount—a gesture I genuinely appreciate. However, my experience at this particular GameStop was disappointing. The employee I interacted with informed me that they do not offer a military discount, even after I explained that three other locations had gladly provided it during my visit. Despite my attempts to clarify the situation, she remained firm and unyielding, which left me feeling unappreciated and somewhat cheated.
Additionally, I found it odd that there were two employees working, yet the store had hardly any customers during my visit. It didn't seem busy enough to require multiple staff members, but that’s just my observation. On a positive note, I did find a couple of items I was looking for, which somewhat salvaged the experience.
Overall, I cannot recommend this GameStop location, especially with so many other options within an hour's drive that are much more accommodating and customer-friendly. She threw a paper towel at me when I set my water cup on the counter. She allowed my friend to walk around for at least 20 minutes with a game that was displayed only to tell her that they didn’t have it in store, without even checking. She forced two of my friends to pay together without their consent, only providing one receipt- not a very responsible business practice! Stood there while he yapped to a couple for 15 minutes only for when they finally leave, a child walks in and as I am standing before this cashier, him having said literally nothing to me, zero acknowledgement, he starts talking to this kid and immediately turns away from me. Check that camera. This was insufferable. Dude has the professionalism of a blind and deaf yapping chihuahua. Wearing them glasses only to apparently still be blind.
