I booked my room in early December for two weeks. Christmas eve I found out that my reservation was messed up. I was scheduled to arrive on December 26th and I was supposed to be in a two-bedroom suite. After a lot of back and forth, we agreed to a one-bedroom suite.
My family was joining me for a few days due to Christmas break ( I work in the area) and the reason I picked this hotel was because of the amenities. Large rooms, breakfast, heated pool, social hour, free laundry, kitchen in the unit.
The large room was out, I confirmed the other amenities lady on the phone confirmed all amenities were correct including the heated pool.
We showed up the room was clean, social hour was awesome, and breakfast was great BUT no heated pool. My twin boys were beyond disappointed.
The food staff was on top-notch 5-star service.
The cleaning staff's 5-star service
The front desk was awful! I spoke with the general manager and he was so rude.
I was blow-drying my hair the bathroom and wash area lost all power. I did everything I could think of but had no power. I went down to talk to the front desk attendant which was extremely cozy on the couch with her boyfriend. I asked her to come to speak to me as she did not want to get up. The next day the sweet kitchen staff came and helped me with the breaker box. But the lights started making a hissing sound. I went to speak to the GM he said " I was already informed". I said, " I have an update, would it be ok to give it to you"? He mumbled what sounded like "fine" at this point I just wanted to check out. I calmly let him know that the lights were now making a noise, and I wanted someone to make sure it was safe, and if he could please send someone to look? He said yes. When I got back to the hotel I stopped at the front desk and asked if my room was safe. he said yes everything was fine. I felt as if I had really irritated him, I don't believe he looked into my light situation, but there is no way of knowing. I just kept the lights off as much as possible. When I went to check out the lady was in the parking lot barbequing with some of the guests. I waited at the front desk for 10 mins, then I called the hotel after about 10 rings she came walking in annoyed and answered the phone at this point she did not address me or the line that was behind me. I told her it was me on the phone and she was not happy. I checked out and I am quite sad because the amenities of a Staybridge are amazing. First time at Staybridge and I don't know if I would go back
In 2022 I stayed in an IHG hotel for 168 nights. I have never stayed at a hotel with the front staff this rude, and just lack of care/ annoyance. I have been traveling a lot since 2018.
I hope the front staff gets their act together because the...
Read moreWe stayed here for a 4 day track meet, when Corpus Christi was completely booked up for the TX Summer Games events in all sports. We got a great rate, and even though it wasn't right in Corpus Christi, it was a quick drive over there for our event. 100% would stay here again for the following reasons:||1. Clean: The hotel is fairly new, and you could tell as soon as you walked in the door that the AC was working strong, and it smelled clean and fresh. The room was exactly the same||2. spacious: The suite was the most basic suite available, but more than enough room for our family of 4. The full kitchen included a full size fridge with an ice maker, a toaster, coffee maker, dishwasher, stove, dishes, etc. the sofa has tons of space around it to relax, multiple tables, and space for beds. The bathroom sink was outside of the shower and bathroom, so that meant no fogging the mirror, and we could either shower or get ready at the sink in separate areas. Lots of mirrors around the room, and overall it was just perfect. We didn't hear noise between rooms, but some noise from outside when drivers sped around or turned up their stereos.||3. Amenities: Free waters at the front, happy hour some weeknights (we didn't get there for that) but they did have chips and open bar on Thursday, even though they don't advertise it, and open bar again on Friday just because they noticed so many people enjoying it the night before! Good call on adjusting to meet your guests. I saw a review somewhere else that said breakfast was limited, but I wouldn't say that at all. Two waffle makers, bagels, muffins, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, oatmeal (packets, not a pot of cooked oatmeal), fresh fruit, and then always a different protein - they had 4 hot plates, always with eggs and either bacon or sausage, sometimes potatoes, one day Kolaches, one day a kind of corn dog. Great coffee, tea and hot chocolate.||4. Friendliness: Everyone at the desk and breakfast areas was kind of helpful. ||We didn't use the pool or laundry room, but they looked like they were in great shape. Parking was always available and again, this was a very busy weekend where they did sell out.||Overall, this was one of our cleanest, most pleasant stays at a hotel, and location to restaurants was very convenient and worked perfect for us. As with most hotels post-covid, there was no daily housekeeping, but they were happy to provide anything we needed if we asked. I didn't have a...
Read moreI had made a reservation for the 2 bedroom suite. I usually stay at Staybridge Suites when I'm travelling because of the spacious rooms. When I arrived to check-in, Kathy stated that I did not have a reservation until October. I showed her my confirmation number and details and she still said, "I have no room for you". I asked if there were any available rooms that we could get and she said I could get two separate rooms but I would have to pay the price difference. I told her since the mix-up was not my fault, they would have adjust the price of the rooms. They did; however, I needed four beds and they could only provide 3. She showed me how all the 2 bedroom suites were booked up, asking ,"Are you Shari? She has the suite you want." And she kept giving me names of the other guests, as well. She was very rude, very snarky, and very snippy. I asked her if we could get a late check-out because I saw on her computer screen that I was eligible. She said, "No." When I pointed out that we were eligible, she said, "You have to leave by 11:30, 12 at the latest." Check out is at 11, so that is hardly late check out. When I asked the overnight staff when the GM was going to come, he said the GM would be in the following day at 10am. The GM did not show up and Kathy said we had to be out by 11. I reminded her of the 12:00 check-out and she said, "I did not tell you that. I have notes. I said no such thing." She threatened to call the police if we were not out by that time. I went down the hall to the other room to let my grown sons know that we had to leave ASAP and they informed me that housekeeping had walked in on them while they were asleep. It was a tiny room with a standard sized bed and a sofa. Once son slept on the sofa in his underwear and the housekeeper saw him in his boxers. Apparently, Kathy had already checked us out before we actually checked out. I called the next day to speak to the GM and again, and I was told he would not go in person. I tried 3 more days and I never got to speak to him and I was told he only worked Tues-Fri from 10am-3pm, yet, he never seemed to be around when I called. And he never returned my calls, either. I did call Staybridge Suites customer service line and they gave me points. That was all. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL, as the customer service is beyond horrible. The hotel is nice but the staff is rude and unprofessional and they will walk in to your room...
