Upon entering the park I was approached by it's name sake, Kenilworth. I hound faced man dressed as a British butler. He warned of all manner of forbidding creature. I assured him I was prepared to slash and knaw for the riches that await within for my constitution was fortified with a silver Elven anlace which made me swift and a juniper buckler blessed at St. John's Cathedral. His eyes were delighted by my blade, but appeared in shock at the site of my shield. I was thus granted entrance where I did encounter such beasts and more so. I did find riches and had become a lord. Unthinkable powers. Only I had not my true love whom I promised devotion and as my heart craved my dearest I neglected my armies and citizenship. A coupe was afoot. I t had been seven months by our own world's calendar. I exited Kenilworth Park with less than I had entered with. True my fortune and armaments where gone but I had a good time and then went home...
Read moreExcellent park! Convenient parking, if you need to drive there. Next to a school, so the traffic tends to be a little slower on the road. There’s two different playground areas, one gear more towards smaller children, which is on the Holgate side of the park. The other play structure is very big and is gear towards bigger kids. There’s also room for dogs to run around (pretty sure it’s an on-Leash park, but there’s always people with their dogs running around off leash... it’s away from the kids area).
There’s a bathroom and a portable potty, which I assume is there for times when the full bathroom isn’t open, but I’ve never been there when it wasn’t open. There’s also tennis courts, lots of paths and is pretty hilly, lots of trees.
Overall it’s a super nice park! We go fairly often, there are occasionally homeless people that hang out in one area. But we’ve never had any issues with them and they’ve...
Read moreNot an off leash dog park. There are signs at every entrance that leashes are required. I have been charged by a massive dog here before, whose owners took off it's leash and collar the minute they entered, then seemed astonished anyone objected. Their dog nearly knocked over children in the playground in it's attempt to attack my dog. A mother of a child thanked me for yelling at the owners and insisting they leash their animal. This is not the only inappropriate dog incident I've had or seen here. Let's remember: NOT. A. OFF. LEASH. DOG. PARK.
Other than that fairly major issue, lovely park. Areas for picnics, benches and tables, two nice children's play areas, many entry/exit points, and lots of squirrels happily foraging, so free entertainment. Just follow the rules so everyone can enjoy the...
