Coming back into R/C's after a 15 year break AND converting from nitro to the new world of electric LiPo power had me anxious. I visited these guys a handful of times before I committed. The staff knew their stuff, and was almost too knowledgeable. They were about as excited as I was just explaining all the changes that had transpired in the hobby during my absence. I bought two rigs, one for my son, and one for myself. After a ton of research on my own and being reassured by the staff, we chose the Arrma Typhon 6s. Couldn't be any more pleased! The way these guys have held my hand through this was a relief, and comforting. We had a couple of issues, that had nothing to do with In Control; was completely quality control from the manufacture, and not big stuff... but these guys had my back. They took care of me immediately, had whatever part was needed and the know how to slide the new part in and have me on my way super quick. In an industry that has to compete with online sales; service, knowledge and a smile are about all that can be offered and this is the spot to receive that!! I am content, and if anyone was to ask my wife, she'd let you know they deserve an award. Thank you In Control for all that you have done, you've definitely earned my business, as well as my...

I've spent plenty of money there, but anyone who has bought more than a couple of items can say that. Prices are full retail, it would be nice to see a bargain bin or some "Sales". Face it though, this is an expensive hobby, you need to pay to play.
I know why some of you get turned off by friends of the owner and staff monopolizing their time. It can feel like nobody cares you're there. Look at their side though, small town with lots of frequent visitors who want everyone to hear about their latest upgrades. I've been in that situation and these customers can be easily offended if you cut them short.
They, the staff and owner, do need to get better at recognizing customers when they arrive. It only takes a second to say, "excuse me", to the person in front of them, or on the phone, then say, "Welcome to In Control Hobbies, I will be with you in a minute". Then do just that...
To me, it's worth the drive from Spokane...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe heavier grey haired guy, likely an owner judging by his reaction, was clearly irritated when I came in asking for a different brand of bearings for my Rustler. He of course asked me why I didn't like them and since im as blunt as a 1970s Mack truck.... he didn't like it very much. š For a second I thought I was going to be asked to leave judging by the look on his face, clearly mad turning a little red... but he got over it faster than I expected when I went right into asking for a set of tires.... I even kind of dominantly cut him off too cuz it looked like he was about to start yelling at me. (I yell back) I wasn't assaulted ... Or even screamed at... but I got to wonder. It's not a bad little place to go for replacement parts though in a pinch. Good prices on stock Traxxas plastic parts and such. The rest of the staff's nice. Wimpy bearings with slack tolerances for Traxxas and somebody doesn't know how to glue tires. Glue your own. Oh ... and a big no on another brand of...
