Brevity isn't a strong point of mine, so I'll try not to make this too long but here are my thoughts:
Now that the pandemic is...dare I say, over?... This place has been a Godsend for me this winter which has been excessively cold and rainy for San Diego standards. Its been so nice to have a place to work out at ANY TIME of the day that is consistently warm (usually a very comfortable 68-75 degrees inside). So I'm not freezing my keister off outside.
The owner Dom is a Navy Veteran and it shows in the impressiveness of this facility. The Code of Conduct is all about accountability, mindfulness, and respect for one another. His assistant, Liz, is also very friendly and so is Lori who does an amazing job at keeping the place neat and tidy.
I never felt pressured to sign up after my tour of the facility; I did it because I really wanted to. And that's the way it should be. That alone, makes this place a gem.
No negotiating the gym fee which is a good thing because they want to keep it fair for everyone, in addition, you get what you pay for, and trust me, you are paying for a stellar experience. Open 24 hours, you have lots of space to work with, and no "gym-timidation!"
Dom's discipline and initiative to build the brand that he did is admirable and inspirational. He wants people to strike a balance between using technology and being mindful / socializing, IRL. Which is something I'm still trying to work on (think, phone addict combined with pandemic-induced-social-skills-loss) but I love the concept.
I have one suggestion: change the songs on the facility's music playlist more often, or, turn the volume down, or, get rid of it altogether? I see the vast majority of clients on some sort of earpiece device anyway, therefore I don't think the music is helping, unless... the strategy is to have the volume high, in order to discourage the earbud use to encourage people to socialize more? Lol. I don't know. Either way, I suck at socializing. Haha, but I'm working on it.
Anyway, thank you to Dom, Liz, and Lori, for keeping this 4S Ranch gem as lovely as it is!
And of course, how could I forget? Free and plentiful...
Read moreI have been lifting for 40 years and have had memberships at more gyms than I can count. Teqneeq provides one of the best membership experiences I have had. In an age where local gyms are disappearing and members are being forced into the big-box chains, they set themselves apart.
The facility is always immaculate, the equipment is top quality and plentiful, and it is never crowded even during typical rush hours. Lots of dedicated spaces and zones for different types of training, with a very open and easy-flowing layout that facilitates all kids of training methods.
Most important, however, is the etiquette that is observed by the members, and this is no accident. The ownership and staff have made significant efforts to ensure that the common grievances associated with most gyms are virtually absent here. Tired of people paying more attention to their phones than their workouts, oblivious to their surroundings, leaving their weights lying around, peacocking, filming themselves in the mirror and posting on Instagram while you wait for equipment, or just generally inconsiderate behavior? Teqneeq is an environment where everyone is just there to work out, and no one is there to judge.
Couple all of that with the 24/7/365 access and you have the best workout facility in the county. If you are looking for a comfortable and supportive training environment in a top-notch facility, your...
Read moreCurrently in America, we are inundated with corporate gyms that possess little to no appealing characteristics. Each are carbon copies of one another (Golds, LA, Planet Fitness, EOS, etc) and treat their members solely as a statistic.
Having the experience of working out in each of the aforementioned gyms for approximately 20 years, I can assure you that Teqneeq is the polar opposite of the “big box” gymnasiums, and a breath of fresh air.
From the first day I walked into Teqneeq, I was greeted by the owner/operator. I was welcomed and treated like a human being and not another commissioned based sale. From my perspective, I could tell that he cared what my purpose was in seeking membership. He gave my wife and I a tour and explained to us the multitude of fitness opportunities and state of the art equipment the gym offered.
The support staff is always friendly, knowledgeable, and aware of the logistics that sustain continual successful day to day operations.
Another significant improvement in Teqneeq’s operations versus other gyms is their commandments. These guidelines ensure safe practices for gym members and keep everyone accountable while working out in the facility.
I would strongly recommend Teqneeq to anyone who is interested in becoming a member and pursuing their fitness aspirations and accomplishing...
