Update june 28: stella the server - horrible attitude. came at 11:23 looks like restaurant is open, but they’re not seating yet. Stella said to wait until 1130. come 1130. She wants to sit me in the corner half close by the wall in an empty restaurant. I asked her to be seated at another table cause I’m gonna quickly eat and be gone in 15 minutes she says no there’s no one in the restaurant. So I left. - lost business. Start tip options at 20% and goes up from there. Dont like it. Start at 15 or 18 at least. Provide great service and people to be more than 20%. Also tried to come and give them business during lunch and order over the phone to dine in to save time so i don’t wait. Stella - the server said she wont do that. No reason. We came here for dinner because of all the 5 star reviews and it didn't disappoint. We made reservations since we had a big party.

We started off with the fragrant garlic edamame and gyoza (6 pieces). Hot sake was nice too.

I ordered the sliced ribeye steak and mushroom donburi bowl and it was delicious. The steak was very tender though there were a couple of pretty fatty pieces. I wish there were some vegetables too. I should have ordered a salad as well. Everyone was happy with their food orders. The sushi orders came way after the cooked dishes were served. We were half way done with our food before my friends' sushi orders came to the table. They were busy on Thursday night with only two sushi chefs.

We ordered the earl grey creme brulee and the matcha brownie for desserts. Definitely order the creme brulee. It wasn't too sweet and we liked it more than the brownie.

Went on a Saturday night and the place was basically empty. We were greeted and seated quickly, and had our drink order taken. The. The server came out and was very nice. He explained the menu and answered questions we had. We had sashimi, spicy tuna roll, soup, and curry croquettes. The food was amazing. Really tasty. The atmosphere was that of an underground speakeasy. Some low club music playing while a few TVs on the wall play Japanese tv. The place is tiny but comfortable. We didn’t have alcohol just water and apple juice for the kid, and everything was great. Then the bill came. Yikes a bit pricey. However given we were treated extremely well, the food was great, and the vibe was good, I handed over my credit card with ease. Would I go again? Absolutely! Great friendly gathering place...
