You go to West Texas to be in the desert. You stop in Marfa because there’s Donald Judd’s foundation, the Prada Marfa installation ( which you discover is actually in closeby Valentine and not in Marfa) the Marfa Lights, fun shops, restaurants…After a couple of days you decide to drive further south and you stumble upon a small town called Presidio. Good name, you think. Ah there’s a main road close to the Mexican border. Let’s see what it looks like, you tell yourself. You drive slowly, taking in the buildings that seem frozen in time….oh there’s a hardware store on the right. You look left. Suddenly you stop. You’re at 702W O’Reilly St. The building looks brand new even though it definitely must have been here for decades. It’s white with black trimmings. But what really made you look was the golden door. You park your car because you need to see what’s happening here. There’s a sign that says “open”. There’s a beautiful painting in the window. So you go in. It smells good. It looks beautiful. Amongst white drapes, long wooden tables display rare books, handpicked beauty products, small objects and a selection of artworks. There’s so much to look at, to explore. You are greeted by a long-haired woman with knowing eyes and a dancing smile. Every piece she’s selling has a story. You wonder if this is not a dream. The Dreamers Gallery in Presidio, TX is one of those unexpected places that you cannot but love. If you ever find yourself in West Texas, you have to go. You will have an amazing story to tell.

The Dreamers Gallery is an Oasis of treasures amidst the beautiful desert of Presidio, TX. Step inside and you’ll be greeted by the gallery’s owner Adele. From beautiful stones and found objects to antique art to modern art with a curated book collection, there is something here for any collector of art, objects or books. There is a wonderful selection of hand picked natural skin products from natural bug repellent to Lavender Oil and handmade soaps all the way from Mongolia as well as some select objects handmade in Mexico. This is defintily a special destination on your journey. 10/10!
