This is our favorite classic rink in the Northeast—our son has been playing here since he was a mite! The rink has such a nostalgic vibe, and you can really feel the history, dating back to the 1930s. It’s a great spot for both hockey fans and those who appreciate the charm of an old-school venue.
There’s a convenient free parking deck just across the street at the train station, which makes it easy to park. We arrived early and walked over to Roots Ocean Prime for a bite to eat. The restaurant is just a short stroll away, and we enjoyed sitting at the bar, watching the Rutgers football game, and having some delicious appetizers. The sliders were particularly amazing—definitely a highlight!

Tickets are maximum $15 (2017/18 season) and the seating is old school bleachers that ring the rink, only 8 or so rows deep (plus a second deck for student and the band)...not a bad seat in the house. Very family friendly and always lots of little kids enjoying the game. Nice historical display at one corner of the rink covering Hobey’s life/hockey and the Princeton hockey teams.
