We were excited to try this place out after seeing it on the news and living in the area but unfortunately Very disappointed in the whole experience. Be aware that there is “service fee” for being part of a big party: defined as 6 or more (not a gratuity but an extra charge) tacos: arrived cold, like literally tortilla and meat cold. $7 per taco, only one tortilla. Service: our server was not pleasant at all. When informed about the cold taco she said it just came out and if you don’t believe me I will bring the chef to talk to you with the biggest attitude and when the second person stated their taco was cold she refused to take the tacos back until I went to go talk to the hostess and the chef. They kept saying that because we were a big party they were trying to accommodate us, mind you the place was not busy at all at this time and apparently that was reason for not getting our food hot. Very sad to say that we felt our server was being racist towards us for being Hispanic when this is supposed to be a Hispanic owned establishment and she herself was Hispanic. Monse was our server and she stated “I knew you guys would be a problem from the moment you walked into the door.” Which showed as she gave us horrible service and then said “Hispanics are the worst at restaurants they just try to make it harder on other Hispanics”
Unfortunately did not have a chance to enjoy the 2 flights of beers we had ordered as we had to try to plead to get us hot tacos not only with her but with the whole staff, I know we liked the beer Diego. Nobody ever came to apologize for the bad experience we had received, nobody informed us about the service fee of being a big party and nobody told us that being a “big party” meant no hot...
Read moreI was so excited to have this open in FP. I’m a big fan of their beers and I was happy Exit Strategy’s old place would get new life.
The food is pretty good and the drinks are great! There are a few things I noticed:
The food prices are extremely high, 8 dollars for a taco is bit much for me. Is this a bar, brewery, or restaurant? It doesn’t feel or act like a brewery and what is the crowd they are trying to attract? If you do reserve for a big party they can only split a check between two cards and there are a lot of charges, $25 deposit and a service charge that doesn’t include the tip. Looks to be a newer staff. They made their frustration known when my party started asking questions about ordering at the bar or asking about the menu.
I think they might just be trying to figure everything out and I’m sure in a few months they’ll make some changes. For right now their operation is clunky, and they make small problems into big problems.
They have a great concept, they just need to iron out...
Read moreWe have gone here twice and unfortunately each time we had something happen that made us question returning. 1 visit a worker was standing on tables to clean windows but then proceeded to NOT clean the tables he was standing on…
2nd visit it was me, my partner, our friend and their wife with their 4 year old. 4 adults and 1 child apparently counted as a “party” and they automatically charged us 20% gratuity (in which I would NOT have tipped that due to the poor service.) Im sorry but if you tables who fit 6, and 4 with 1 child show up, that shouldn’t be considered a large group. Especially when it’s dead on a Tuesday. If we had over 6 and it required multiple tables? Then I understand that rule but 4 and 1 child is a party? I was really hopeful for this place as I wanted to have a good local brewery to support and frequent but when it comes to terrible cleaning practices, bad service, overpriced food/beer and you could get hit with surprise fees? Guess better off going...
