I had my 1st appointment for a full lightening (bleach) with natural color low lights. My appointment was at 1 pm. I sat waiting in the waiting room for my stylist to "finish setting up after returning from her lunch". As I watched others who arrived after I did go back with their stylish for 15 mins. The receptions came over to me and said "I apologize for the long wait, she just setting up." After 20 mins she called me back, I explained even showed her a reference photo of what I wanted the final result to look like. As a woman your hair is a huge part of her identity. And getting it done can really boost your self esteem. After a lot of medical problems I'm finally able to go and do things. The biggest for me was getting my hair done. My appointment was at 1pm. I got finished at 6pm. Physically it was a hard day for me. Dealing with a lot of pain. The next day I woke up and my son asked me "What did you get done to your hair yesterday?" I told him, "I got my hair lighter. His reply "Oh? I couldn't tell what you did to it." I went and looked in the mirror, it looked almost as if I did nothing. Barely a change for $86! I called and they said they could do a recolor for free. I went back, showed the new stylist/student the reference picture. She said "oh ok, well let's start with a toner, wash it and tone it and see what we get." Again it barely made a difference, and that's all she and the instructor seemed willing to do. Of course unless I paid another $86? I'm not rich, everyone these days are struggling, $86 is a lot for me as a single mother. I was so excited for this change to help lift my self esteem. After my long struggle with medical problems, I truly needed this. The student were sweet girls, the education and leadership seems to be lacking. I've always gone to schools for haircuts, even as a child. This was nothing new, but the experience was horrible and bursted my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIām a student here and I have to say Iām proud to come here! There have been so many improvements made recently and itās making my education so much better. Other schools say they welcome feedback but this place actually does AND makes good changes based on student surveys. We have guest artists often and I love all of them. I learn something new every time and itās good to learn from someone whoās in the industry already and crushing it and makes me believe I can too. Instructors are ALL amazing, knowledgeable, and friendly and truly want you to succeed.
One thing that stood out recently that just solidified my opinion about this school is I met with the owner, Larry and had a good hour long conversation about my goals after school. He carved out time out of his busy schedule quickly and didnāt rush me at all. He answered all of questions and was just a genuine, down to earth guy. He had a great energy about him. You would think most CEOs are just in it make money and donāt care about you but I honestly felt he cared about ME, just a barber student. I was highly impressed with him and I thank him from the bottom of my heart!
Also, I havenāt read other reviews about the school but if you come across a negative one in the past, the school has improved SOO much in just the short 10 months Iāve been there and itās just going to continue getting better. I wouldnāt come here to write this long review if I didnāt believe it was great. (I honestly never write reviews, but this school...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI love Taylor Andrews! I was student here and I would recommend this school to anybody interested in cosmetology! I loved hair school... to be honest I was sad to leave! Most of the instructors are absolutely amazing and genuinely care about you and the variety of professional guest artists they bring in from all around the world are so beneficial to your education! Itās something you wonāt find at other schools. In my opinion, most of the complaints on here seem like they could be fixed if students would realize their education is their own responsibility and just because it's provided to you doesn't mean if you stand around and do nothing you will succeed. You have to put in effort. Just like anything else, what you will get out of school depends on how willing and eager you are to learn it! You cannot come here expecting somebody to make you into a professional just because you showed up. Ask questions, the instructors are more than willing to answer and work with you and help you understand! The new location is beautiful and clean. Larry (the owner) seems to genuinely care about the students and takes the time to come talk to us about the salon world and gives tips for being successful. You canāt go wrong at Taylor Andrews. No, itās not perfect, but itās pretty close! So glad I chose this school. Plus, you will work with a variety of professional products (multiple brands) and gain useful knowledge on popular products. And youāre always encouraged to keep...
