Roxie's Market of Quincy — Attraction in Quincy

I was disappointed with my visit today at Roxy’s. The gentleman running the meat department was very short with me and my boyfriend. He kind of just shoved us off and wanted to get his work done and was like basically leave me alone type five we got. Roxy is not as it used to be many years ago. Prices have definitely gone up, they have not updated that store. That store needs a renovation, it’s looked the same since I was nine years old. I was nine years old in 1991. I think that with the amount of money that Roxies makes they can absolutely remodel this store And maybe they might get more customers from other cities to come to their market. They need to promote more not everybody knows about Roxies. Which is sad because it’s good freshly packaged meats, deli meats, fruits, vegetables. They have a little mix of everything. Maybe management can have a talk with their employees about being friendlier to customers as I’ve been going there since I was a child like I said, and I felt kind of pushed out the door. It can get very busy in there, and when it does you are literally walking shoulder to shoulder with whomever else is there. Reason being it is very small, and I believe they only have two isles that are very tight you scrap your shopping cart to get down their isles. They should only let a small amount of customers in at once like under 10 and as 1 customer comes out to leave the next one can go in. Their parking lot is like quadruple the size of the store. Maybe they could also expand it. Even expanding it to add even one more isle and making their other two isles a little bigger.Every time I'm their someone is verbally arguing/fighting with another customer. Really it's not any customer's fault it's frustrating because you can't get by people so in my mind it's the owner's fault for never doing anything to make enough space. Roxie's has good fresh foods/meats and have been around for a long time. Way long enough to expand even a little and I'm sure the owner would see more profit coming in shortly after...

Drive by here all the time and always see the big sign advertising such good prices on meat, so finally I made it into the store to check it out. As other reviewers have noted, it is not for the feint of heart…you are immediately punched in the face with the smell of old blood and spoiled meat, which even with a KN95 masks penetrates and lingers with you until you exit the store. I gave it a chance, I really did, but just couldnt bring myself to touch any of the packages or buy anything from the store. The refrigerator and freezer chests were outdated, worn down, and looked dirty and the quality of everything to me was just questionable. Prices so low you have to wonder why…maybe the butcher has a direct source and can get an amazing deal?!? Even so, you can only imagine the conditions of those animals before becoming food.
