If you choose to visit Racine you really ought to visit the zoo and if the weather permits the beach. Even if the weather is crazy outside.....I'm talking thunderstorms & lightning....the whole shebang, it's really cool. I'll confess I actually love visiting the beach during Wicked storms. The main reason I decided to review this beach is to give swimmers a warning however.
Allow me to tell you a little story, a story on how I almost drowned last year. I took swimming lessons as a child and was at the Head of the Class. For years I was a very strong swimmer. After not having swam for at least 10 years, I decided to swim with a pretty lady friend of mine. I swam out further than I should have. I started to tire. If you swim at North Beach be wary of swimming close to the north beach pier, it is a notorious place...

They have big ride on machines, tractor style which grooms and picks up any foreign objects from the sand. Our beach is the cleanest in Wisconsin! Racine's North Beach also has a great business called The Oasis. The Oasis works out of the front area of the historic beach shower building. They offer food, beer, wine, mixed drinks as well as ice cream novelties. The food is absolutely fantastic with Italian beef sandwiches, brats, burgers, salads, and much more. Oh and there are live bands every weekend. There are palm trees set out at the Oasis and out in the sand. There are huge hammocks and chairs put out everyday. There are also volleyball nets up, corn hole put out and many children's games. We spend a good deal of time at the Oasis in the summer with friends checking out the band's. There are great bands down there. We live up the hill from the beach so it's easy for us to just walk on down. Racine's North...
