I was travelling with my mother to Reading for a two night mother-daughter trip to see Jokoy and celebrate the holidays a bit early. DoubleTree by Hilton Reading is listed online as a 3-star hotel and I stayed in a 2 queen bed room. * Location: 3/5 * Check-In/Check-Out: 5/5 * Room: 4.5/5 * Service: 5/5 The staff at the front desk and the restaurant were really polite, welcoming, cheerful, and kind! I only had one issue that happened during my trip and it was when both my hotel card keys didn't work. It was around 8 pm, so there was only one person at the front desk. They sent a guy up to let us in our room, but I had to go downstairs for new keys. I still don't understand why our keys stopped working randomly. Luckily, the Hilton Honors app also lets you in your room with a digital key, but sometimes it's more convenient to have the physical key card. * Amenities: 5/5 They also had a 24/7 front desk. They do not have a Free breakfast - it costs $15 - unless you paid for it ahead of time. I also did not use their free shuttle or taxi services because the Pagoda was closed. * Pricing: 5/5 I expected nothing less in terms of pricing for a Hilton hotel. I've been to other hotels with the same price and had half the amount of amenities. There were a lot of fees, but the only one I didn't understand was the tourism fee -- since IN MY OPINION there's not much to see here. Otherwise, I really felt like I got what I paid for. * Overall: 5/5 With everything tied in together, I had an great time at the hotel. I will definitely book again if I'm going to another event in Reading!

The bathroom stalls all have see through glass doors, which is absolutely insane. I know I cannot be the only person who thinks this is wild????? Went for an event a few weekends ago and was so shocked to walk into the bathroom, glance, only for a moment, and see a perfect outline of a woman on the toilet unspooling toilet paper and wiping with the door fully closed. I could tell you her skin color, hair color, and what color shirt she was wearing. How did you install these and think, "yeah, that's fine." And not immediately replace them? Not only do I not want to see anyone use the bathroom, I also don't want anyone seeing me. I like literally can't wrap my mind around this design choice. It defies words. I swear I'd take any public bathroom on a London Underground stop over the nicest American public toilet because it really seems like whoever is designing them is like trying to remove all dignity at all costs. The rest of the event space was really nice. Reply to Hilton's reply: Sweetheart, you can see the toilet through the stall door. The sinks and mirrors are in front of the line of glass stalls. You don't have to even be trying to look to catch a glance. Whoever approved it should frankly be cast out of society. There's no way you can look at that and think that's appropriate.

I went for a Jazz Festival and did not stay there. But it was good and people seemed nice. I did not park there as it was $25. For parking do I went about a block up and parked. The place seem clean and the bathroom was also very clean. There were lots of vendors with lots of beautiful things for sale.

We enjoyed our stay. We were served by Egypt at breakfast and she was the sweetest.
