Honestly I always loved this place. But now I have to stop going . If you ever use a card check your transactions. No matter if you leave a tip in there bucket they will STILL charge extra to your card , I have multiple disputes going on right now with my bank . I have a 25$ check and they charged me 8$ extra to my card . First time I let it go . However after going 2-3 more times each and every time they give me a receipt and when I look at my card the transaction amount is always more . Not 1-2 dollars but 5, 10, 7. This is illegal . I tip every where I go , I’m a waitress . But to decide how much you and charge my card repeatedly is not okay . When they were confronted about it they gave every excuse in the world that it was my “bank”. No it is not my bank and that’s why my banks making a dispute on it . Every excuse they had made absolute no sense. They would have made more money off me keeping me as a customer . Check your cards compared to...

As a loyal customer for many years I am sad to announce that I can no longer afford to eat here. As a woman who doesn't cook, I strongly rely on this place to feed me. My dinner "to-go" order would usually consist of small servings of rice, meat, spaghetti, and a few tostones. One combo platter as a proper complete Dominican meal, not separate side portions as I am only one person. I understand inflation prices are affecting everyone and small profit margins for restaurants are tight but how dare you charge me $15+$8+$4+$2=$29 for a plate of food! Plus the tip; so it comes out to $34 total in the end. This is ridiculous. There is a line of tolerance and you have crossed it. I feel like they are taking advantage of my situation and now I either have to learn to cook or starve. Thanks. Not to mention my mayoketchu was watery and gross. I noticed it....

I was excited to find a Dominican place since I just moved here and wanted to find a place that reminded me of home. Coming in it reminded me of the small town I grew up in in NJ. Everyone greeted each other like family, there was no set menu on the wall, you should walk in knowing what you want. I ordered a beef chili and a plate of pernil with rice and maduros for my girlfriend and I. I knew the Chimi would take a little long since it’s cooked to order but I think it took longer than usual. As time went on and other people kept getting their food brought to the table, I became very impatient. I think all in all I waited 15-20 for the Chimi.

Once it came I was skeptical but ate it. It was good, the bread was a little to crunchy but I still enjoyed it. I enjoyed the maduros and the pernil. I would go back just to try...

Our first and last time visiting chimi. We not from the area just decided to try something different while doing some shopping. They servers were nice, they don’t have a menu to check out what they have. Took about 45 minute wait to get the food. The mangu as you can see looks like oatmeal no flavor just a bit too sour from the vinegar. The salami was too thick & greasy. The cheese was good. The eggs were burnt. The chicken was salty and the mofongo was hard. Ordered these two plates and drinks $44…. Witch we thought is overpriced! Ended up leaving most of the food.
